It contains separate internal client engines that help reduce resource-intensive processes for the CA ARCserve Backup host, serving as a "go-between" that allows CA ARCserve Backup to efficiently back up machines running various operating systems.

With the client agent properly installed and configured, a system administrator can use CA ARCserve Backup's backup program to effectively retrieve data from remote clients. It browses targeted directories in real time and packages data to be transported across the wire in pulses of large data packets. The CA ARCserve Backup host server then prepares the data to be stored on the designated storage devices. These simultaneous processes between the client machine and the host backup system translate to a more efficient backup.
