Cisco Secure Policy Manager 2.0 ... product streamlines the tasks of managing complicated network security elements, such as perimeter access control, Network Address Translation (NAT) and IPsec-based VPNs. As the management cornerstone of the Cisco end-to-end security product line, CSPM can dramatically simplify firewall and VPN deployment in corporate networks.

With the product's simple graphical user interface (GUI), administrators can visually define high-level security policies for multiple Cisco firewalls and VPN routers. Once created, these policies can be distributed throughout the network from a central location - eliminating the costly, time-consuming practice of implementing security commands on a command-by-command and device-by-device basis. In addition, CSPM provides basic system auditing functions such as real-time alarm notification and a Web-based reporting system. CSPM also introduces a policy-based management foundation that will be extended in the future to support additional Cisco security solutions such as intrusion-detection services and user identity/authentication.
