... and a short registration process was all that was required from my part. The virus scanner and liveupdates run smoothly, without needing my interference on a computer which has only 1Gb ram. I have found this most useful, given my previous virus scanning product of choice was the Norton Security Suite 2008, which noticably slowed my PC. Another very handy feature of this product is the McAfee SiteAdvisor tool which appears on the bottom righthand corner of your screen whilst browsing the web. This has been extremely informative, as though the norton product was efficient in removing spyware/adware/viruses, I never knew where these were coming from! Overall, I ...

... run MacAfee Internet Security 2008 (see my other review) for over a year with no problems on my laptop and desktop (both running Windows Vista Home Premium), I was quite happy to install McAfee 2009. I have just put it on my desktop for now so I can run a comparison with 2008 for a while and update this review with any findings. Installation took 10-15 minutes including two restarts. You are given the option to install from the CD or internet, I chose the CD as I thought it would be faster, accepted the defaults and then let it download the updates straight afterwards. ... i started out with my new laptop i went on the web without any virus precautions, and got about 15 viruses over a weekend. However as soon as i bought Mcafee i didnt get another one. In fact i havent had a virus for 5 months! I usually scan it twice a month and it will usually say "cookie detected" and will get rid of it at the click of a button. Its great as well because it has a pop-up blocker and a rating system for each website you visit and i trust it to the letter, so if i website is rated unsafe, i say well away from it. I prefer this so much over Norton because with Norton it lets loads through and i get loads of cookies and other unwanted things o...
