I can't give this 1 star, because it certainly does protect. Annoyingly so! It wants to block nearly every (safe) program you open on you computer. This can cause trouble if you accidently click 'block' when you didn't mean to. You have to trudge through the software to unblock the program once again. I know it sounds silly, accidently blocking it in the first place. But these dialogue boxes pop up SO often, it is unavoidable.

Its firewall has blocked the internet from working at all in most situations. Therefore causing panic at a Holiday Inn as we desperately needed to access the internet, and taking a great deal of time before we realized that it was Windows Live One Care that was blocking our internet. If you have to turn the firewall off, which I need to do most of the time, you are then losing that line of protection. There needs to be a scaled back level of security on the firewall, so there is still protection, but not so much so as to block everything!

One last thing, when this expired on my computer and it wanted me to buy a subscription, it was ridiculously expensive (usually retailing for around £39.99)! There are less annoying packages available for much less, if not free.

Summary: There is such thing as too much security, apparently.
