Novell NetWare NFS Services for NetWare

Novell NetWare NFS Services for NetWare ... administration between NetWare and UNIX platforms, or any other platform that implements the Network File System (NFS) and Line Printer/Line Printer Daemon (LPR/LPD) protocol standards. NetWare NFS Services is based on the industry-standard Sun Network File System protocol.

File sharing service in NetWare NFS Services includes NFS Gateway and the NFS Server. NFS Gateway enables NetWare clients to access a UNIX file system as if it were a NetWare volume. The NFS Server exports a NetWare volume to NFS users, enabling UNIX users to view the traditional as well as the new NFS NetWare file system as an extension of their UNIX file system. A File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server is also included, which enables the transfer of files using FTP. NFS Print Sharing Services include the Print Gateway, which enables NetWare clients to configure and print to UNIX printers from NetWare print queues; and the LPD Print Server, which enables UNIX clients to send print jobs to NetWare print queues. In addition, NFS Naming Services offer standard Network Information Service (NIS) services and support for Domain Name System (DNS) on NetWare, providing Host Address Translation, user and group information, and translations between NetWare and NFS user and group IDs.
