V2i Protector is built on PowerQuest's Storage Lifecycle Automation Management (SLAM) architecture. V2i Protector's position in the SLAM architecture is addressing data protection, which includes the backup and recovery of server operating systems and data. Traditionally, backup architectures focus on data backup and restoration while leaving system restoration to the manual process of locating and reinstalling original equipment manufacturer (OEM) OS media as well as any additional Service Packs and Patches needed. V2i Protector automates the manual process of a server OS and data restoration - saving IT staff a significant amount of time and money. V2i Protector allows system and data files to be immediately restored from another location on the network.
