I have had Norton Internet Security 2007 for the past year and I am pleased to report that overall this software has been very good.
I paid £24.99 for this from PC World, but the RRP is £49.99 which personally I think is a bit too much. However if you get it on offer, as I did, the price is OK.
Installation was easy, although not the quickest ever, but nevertheless went without any issues.
Once the product is installed you are prompted to run LiveUpdate to get the definitions and software updates. On this issue, LiveUpdate, and the software as a whole, seems to do more things automatically compared to previous versions; these versions would constantly bombard you with warnings and asking you to download something or other.
Norton Internet Security 2007 has a great, uncluttered, streamlined interface. You can easily run whatever task you want quickly and efficiently, and you can set up a schedule for a full system scan, which is handy.
In terms of features, Norton Internet Security 2007 is pretty much standard. There's the usual virus scanning, firewall, spyware and e-mail scanning, but none of the nice extras you get in the SystemWorks package.
Overall, good product, suitable for any computer user.
I've been using a combination of antivirus software and firewall for a long time. The latter was freeware, the former I paid for. It includes antivirus and firewall, antispyware and intrusion prevention, rootkit protection and so on. The good thing about a combo like this is also that the different features are working smoothly together and don't interfere with each other's settings.
