Norton Search and Restore provides users with the option to create a (or several!) backup strategies tailored exactly to their needs.

In short, it is possible to chose *what* should be copied *where* *when* and *how* under very specific conditions.

what
Chose either an entire harddisk for a full image, or select individual files and folders to be stored. It is even possible to use file-filters to dynamically create the collection of files that should be backed up.

where
Norton lets you store the backups anywhere you chose. Locally, on networked drives, CD / DVD or USB drives, the choice is all yours.

Backups can be timed and restricted to certain days if you so desire.

Full backups are possible as much as incremental ones; either version can be encrypted.

conditions
Backups can be event-triggered and will perform e.g. before a new piece of software is installed. Also, if timed backups are carried out, the system will know how to handle backups that were due with the PC turned off.

Almost needless to say, all of these features can be freely combined, and parallel backup schedules are possible, too.
