Decleor Aromessence Lip Balm
by Chippytarka
This wouldnt have been a purchase I would have made if I was looking for solely a lip product. Its not something that never enticed me.As much as I have loved and enjoyed using Decleor products in the past, my lips are not an area of concern, but obviously keeping them hydrated and looking heathly is essential but I have used products ... that are nice, pleasant, works well on the lips and no where near the price of this product. So why do I have it then?It came in a kit. Its not in the above packaging, same product but 10ml in size in a lipgloss style tube apllicator.
Decleor
Ive recently done a review on another of their products so wont go in depth about who they are, but they are a prestige skin and body care company that are French born. They combine natural plant based ingredients with top cutting edge technology, to bring award winning products that are available through many department stores such as Selfridges, also online in various beauty based websites and the much loved QVC.
What is this product?
Its basically a product designed to hydrate and moisturise the lip area. Its supposed to protect, restore and treat the delicate area on and around the lips. It contains 100% pure essential oils that will keep lips supple.
How is it packaged?
As mentioned before, mine doesnt come in a small glass jar as the picture shows at the top.Mine comes in a 10ml sized tube, pale oyster colouring to it with a screw top cap that covers a plastic lipstick shaped applicator. Very simple and plain.Decleor logo on front, how to use on the back.Easily slips into pocket, make up or hand bag.
Ingredients
Rice Oil, Hazelnut Plant Oil, Macademia Plant Oil, Spent Barley, Vanilla And Petitgrain Essential Oil, Tonka Bean, Lemon Essential Oil, Cinnamon Essential Oil
How to use
Place on lips if and when needed.
What do i think of this product?
Its nice, easy to use and I much prefer it to be in this packaging than in a jar as I feel its more hygenic and easier to spread on the lips. The product itself is concentrated so you only need alittle and it melts into the lips. It does leave the lips with a sense of greasiness so no way dries them out. But to be frank, alot of products would do exactly the same job at a fraction of the price. Its not claiming to plump up lips, get rid of lines or anything like that. Its a glorified lip balm.So at a cost of £13.50 for the tube version, I dont feel the cost justifies what it is.
Would I buy this again?
Not on its own. Ive used Philosphy lip glosses in the past that taste, smell and feel amazing on the lips, and though they were lipglosses not lip balms they did the same job and were at least half the price. So you could easily spend half the amount this costs and get a high end version from another brand that does the same thing. Saying that, its a nice product but not worth the price tag! Read the complete review |

Decleor Eye Contour Firming Serum
by Chippytarka
I have been very lucky to have bought and tried many different body skincare productd over the years. All at different price points, but Ive always ensured that I get the best possible deal. Decleor is a fantastic brand, but the cost isnt. I saw Decleor on QVC but to be honest the prices used to frighten me. But I then got a job in a ... department store, which in a way was a blessing and a curse. To go to my locker or the canteen I had to travel from the floor where I worked, right through the beauty/perfume sections and then upstairs. The smells were gorgeous, the lights were hypnotic and my credit card became lighter ( 30% discount didnt help! ). One of the products I have tried from this range is this one. Why?My eyes are my weak area and the area around it can get very dry very easily.
Who is Decleor?
Decleor is a French based skincare company founded in 1975. Their skincare range is dedicated to having natural ingredients but using cutting edge technology. They are award winning, and their most notable products for the face have been their Hydra Floral facecream, their various night barms and daytime oils for the face. Their products are effective, pleasurable to use and smell divine. This is why this brand is featured in so many spas around the world.
What is this product?
This is a serum for the eye area. It smoothes and moisturises around the eye, which helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It has a firming effect which will give the eye area a more plumped and hydrated look and feel. This product comes in 15ml size at a cost of £32.50.
How is this product packaged?
This product is 15 ml in size, and comes in a thin small glass bottle with a pump top and a gold lid. It looks quite simple but chic at the same time, and very easy to keep in you make up bag when out and about.
How do you use it?
Apply around the eye area, morning and night on clean skin, without make up. Less than one squirt will cover around each eye quite easily. Make up can be put on straight away.
Ingredients
Plant-Based Firming Ingredient, Mallow Extract, Moisturising Factor and Hyaluronic Acid Bio-Complex. Fragrance free.
What do I think?
Firstly, the packaging is nice and very convenient with it being a pump dispenser. I did worry afew times when Ive dropped this in the bath as its made of glass, and considering its only small, its quite weighty for what it is.
Im not convinced that the dispenser is giving the correct amount. One pump seems to give quite abit of serum, so I would apply less pressure when pressing it down so less comes out. Or put the reminder of the product lightly around the mouth if you have dehydration lines there.
The serum itself is light and very fluid, and when placed around the eye it does give instant relief. Not quite coolness, but close to that sort of feel. It sinks straight into the skin, and it feels like its left a light layer of moisture around it so doesnt feel dry. I would apply this more than twice a day, just if and when needed, especially when tired. I didnt feel like it adding extra made my eyes feel heavy and there was no product overload.
In regards to getting rid of any lines.....Well, Im not concerned that much about that. I naturally have acouple of lines under my eyes ( Ive had them since being a child ), and I didnt see much difference. What I saw and felt was this area being more hydrated so around the eyes looked less severe. The fact they felt less dry was important.
Would I buy and use this product again? Yes and no.I wouldnt buy it on its own as the cost is abit much for me these days, but if it was in a kit ( which it was one I first purchase this product ) that was saving me money, and included items I have used and loved and know they work ( Hydra Floral cream to name one ) then I would. This range is available in many department stores such as Selfridges, it has its own website and is on QVC so quite easy to find and purchase. Read the complete review |

Decleor Relax Intense Fruit Seeds Scrub
by Sarccyslayer
In the middle of a mass clean out of lotions and potions, I cam across Decleor Relax intense fruit seed scrub, sitting on my shelf unopened. I must have bought it at some point or have been given it, but whatever the case I had clearly forgotten about it and having just thrown out the last of my Soap & Glory body scrub, I had ... something new to try.
On the packaging you are told that this product is "Inspired by their "Red Island" and "Madagascar Escape" professional treatments, Decleor has launched a unique sensory relaxation ritual with Relax Intense. Specially designed to create a journey of the senses in your own home" this makes it sound quite intense. Online this product retails for around £20 which is fairly expensive for a body scrub, though not the most expensive product I have bought.
The tub is similar in size and shape to Soap & Glory's Flake Away, only this tub contains 200ml of the scrub. The tub is also see-through and you can inside that there is a vivid purple/red coloured scrub and decorating the tub you will find very little, there is the name of the company, the product and a flower. The lid is a screw on and off lid. So not the most exciting of packaging, quite minimal.
When it comes to using the scrub, which you can use in either the bath or the shower, I prefer the latter myself, you need to scoop some of the scrub out and put it onto a wet cloth, sponge or whatever it is you decide to use. The scrub itself is quite surprising because it isn't at all like I was expecting it to be, infact its consistency makes it more of a gel and to be honest I found it a little odd to start with, its almost like using a Lush shower jelly and some old fashioned hair gel that is bright green and sold in a non-descript tub, its just not that slippery and you can also see the fruit seeds, though quite small, which then reminded me of Jam. As for the exotic fragrance, I have to say it was barely noticeable, I was expecting to open the tub and be hit with some dominant smelling ingredients, but there was a slight hint of oranges and nothing more.
As this product is designed to exfoliate, it is suggested that you apply to your skin and then in a circular motion work your way across and around your body allowing the chosen ingredients to do their jobs and it is designed to be used once or twice a week as an intensive treatment, rather than everyday. The ingredients themselves produce quite an extensive list. Starting with Vertiver Oil which is soothing and relaxing, on the skin it is nourishing and moisturising and is said to be beneficial for those people who suffer from dry and dehydrated skin. Ylang-Ylang comes next and it has properties which help the skin to correct the production of sebum, so for those people who suffer from greasy skin, this is useful to you as well as those with dry skin. It also helps combat and relieve stress and tension. Tonka Bean also features and it helps to clean congested skin and is also highly moisturising. Those ingredients aside, this product is one which exfoliates and to do that it used three different items. Firstly there is Acai Seeds which forms part of the scrub for removing the harder bits of rough and dry skin, the seeds themselves, which are the ones you can see are quite brash and abrasive on the skin, so you do need to be careful on certain parts of the skin, like your stomach, where it is much more sensitive. Next comes Argan Husks from and they provide a gentler exfoliation and as the dry and rough skin has been removed by the Acai seeds, the job of the Argan husks is to remove anything lingering behind, both ingredients working together. Finally there is Orange Peel which cleanses and removes dead skin. Also noted within the list of ingredients you are told that this product is made with no parabens and is preservative-free.
As you use the scrub on your skin, you can feel it working as you press harder and massage the skin, because of the gel like consistency of the scrub, it does take some getting used too because it is slightly thicker than a cream but not as thick as Soap and Glory's Flake Away which tends to stick to the sponge when put there, this gel isn't as rigid and if you use too much it falls off the sponge. Once you begin to massage this onto your skin, there aroma does become more noticeable, though I still wouldn't describe it as being exotic, the orange scent with a hint of Vanilla are the dominant smells for me and together they are really nice.
After using this product, my skin felt really soft and smooth, again the orange scent was still present on my skin and the vanilla scent was hardly noticeable. I do tend to have a problem with dry skin on my shins, I have always had it and most products that I have used of this nature have managed to remove most of the dry skin, this product removed all of the dry skin and my skin was soft and smooth to the touch, so whilst I was slightly disappointed not to have an exotic smell, I was extremely happy with the results.
I cant remember how this product came to be sitting on my shelf and I don't remember buying it either, but I am glad I found it sitting there because for me it is one of those products which is a rare find, you like it enough to use it and are happy that it does such a good job, but, you only want to use it in extreme circumstances because the job it does is brilliant and would be a waste to use it for everyday exfoliating.
