Advantages: Softened Skin, Good if you have a cold., Multi-purpose product.
Disadvantages: Expensive
I tried this product a few years ago as it promised to balance and decongest oily skin. To be truthful my skin at the time wasn't very oily, just a shiny T-zone across my forehead and chin. When I received the little 15ml 'pot of magic', I was very sceptical as it is made up almost entirely of oils and waxes.I think many people with oily skin would be thinking it odd to add more oil. Anyway I gave it a try using it every night for about a week, and I think my skin did look a bit fresher.Because the results were not very dramatic, and being a bit lazy about creams, I gradually forgot to use it at all. Then one evening I was having trouble sleeping, due to a bad cold and a very sore nose. I rummaged around the dressing table and found this balm, and decided to try a bit on my sore and flaky nose. It was bliss, the balm made the skin calmer and the strong herby aroma helped my breathing. Since then I have found the balm useful for any patches of sore skin and for use around the cuticle area. The product is actually meant to be a night treatment for dull and congested complexions. The aim is to purify, soften, balance and refine the skin. The Decleor therapists recommend it especially if you have open pores around the nose and chin, nothing will close them up but it may make them less obvious over a long period. The balm is a soft waxy texture, and feels very smooth. It has quite a strong herbal aroma which I find very pleasant. You only need a tiny amount which when warmed in your hands becomes melts and spreads very easily. It takes a little time to absorb and I would only use it overnight as recommended, its too shiny to use during the day. The ingredients... Essential oils and resinoides of Basil,Chamomile,Tonka Bean 2%,Plant Oils and waxes of Avocado,Hazlenuts 97.98%. I would use caution if you have a severe nut allergy as it does have a hazlenut oil base. I
t is very economical to use, only using mine occaisionally the tiny pot has lasted over five years(I suppose I should replace it). But I would estimate at least four months use if you used it every day. The price was around £20 when I bought mine from QVC, quite an investment so it may be worth trying to obtain a sample from a Decleor salon first. As I said I buy my Decleor from QVC either via the website or TV if you have Sky digital or cable. Otherwise you can buy it in some department stores and salons.
