Advantages: it works to target the skin from deep down
Disadvantages: the bottle doesn't come with a dropper
If you have heard of the effectiveness of essential oils in skincare products, and you believe that they actually do work, then, this is definitely one of the must-have face oils to have in your collection. As the name suggests, its main ingredient is neroli essential oil (citrus aurantium amara) which is basically bitter orange flower oil. This is the most expensive essential oil in the market. That is why most shops will sell it as a blend with a base carrier oil to cut down the cost. The ingredients in this face oil are very pure and basic: a) Hazelnut oil – it contains vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fatty acids and is suitable for all skin types, especially inflamed conditions b) Neroli oil – good for scarred skin, thread veins, wrinkles and it tones the skin c) Sandalwood oil – for dry, cracked and chapped skin and also greasy skin d) Juniper oil - good for people who suffers from acne, dermatitis, eczema e) Clary sage oil – for oily skins f) Parsley oil – good for broken blood vessels As you can see, the different essential oils are put together such that it is suitable for any skin types. If you don’t know which Aromessence oil to use, this should be the one to try first. Decleor has basically taken out the guesswork as to which essential oils are to be blended together and at what amount such that the products will give maximum results at a safe level. This is an expensive product and yes, you can blend these oils yourself, but in my experience, I have never come across hazelnut oil sold in its pure form and the essential oils contained in this product are very expensive. Pure neroli oil costs about 18 pounds for 2.5 mls and sandalwood oil costs about 9.99 pounds for 10 mls! It is very easy to fit this product into your daily skincare routine. Basically, apply two drops of it to your face and neck after cleansing and toning and before your usual moisturiser. I
t is a stand-alone product, which means you don’t have to buy the whole lot of skincare products from Decleor to see results. Because it is made up of pure essential oils, AromessenceTM will target the skin at a deeper level than normal moisturisers which only hydrates the upper epidermis. This means that it encourages cell renewal and will literally make the skin more radiant than usual. Because you only need to use 2 drops of this oil on your entire face, it will last you for absolutely a long time! The smell is very floral and very uplifting. It’s not heady at all. If like me, you get quite sick smelling strong scents, then neroli is really the best choice because it’s very light and refreshing. After fitting this product into my daily routine, I find that the condition of my skin has really improved – really soft and I get less redness on my cheeks which I usually get during hormonal imbalanced days. I have less flakiness as well. One disadvantage of this product is the packaging. Although it comes in this really posh-looking bottle, it doesn’t come with a dropper, which means that the oil is constantly being touched by your fingers every time you use it and just makes it easily contaminated. All in all, a real treat for the skin that will actually work.
