Advantages: Comforting, thick, nice scent

Disadvantages: Very expensive, doesn't contain sunscreen

I have dry, sensitive skin that is very difficult to keep in good shape and glowing. Also it seems like my skin gets used to each moisturiser I try and it stops working so well so I am always looking for new mositurisers to give me a helping hand.

I was lucky enough to receive a jar of Declear Flower Nectar Moisturising Cream for my birthday this year (thanks Mum!). I don't know how much it costs but I believe it retails for around £25-30. Therefore I felt priviledged to get to try it because it's not something I would have been able to spring for with my own spending money.

This face cream comes in a very nice glass jar with a plastic lid. The glass is heavy and thick and feels very solid so it shouldn't break even if you drop it on the bathroom floor (I haven't tried this!). The jar is very easy to open and the cream inside looks very thick and inviting.

I would have preferred a pump dispenser though because I feel this keeps creams fresher. I don't like dipping my fingers in each time because although I always wash my hands first I do think it leads to the possibility of germs and bacteria getting into my skin cream. I'm probably just paranoid, though!

You don't need very much of this cream to moisturise your face. I dip my finger into the pot and scrape up a bit, then dot it onto my face and rub it in gently. The cream smells lovely with a very subtle flower scent. It is made with plant extracts and essential oil and is very gentle and comforting on the skin.

I haven't had any problems with breakouts or allergic reactions from this cream. Also I feel it moisturises almost the right amount for my skin type although it could help if it were a a bit more moisturising now that it's winter.

I think this skin cream would be best suited for people with normal or combination skin, especially those with sensitive skin as it is so gentle.

My only real criticism is that it doesn't contain any sunscreen even though it is a day cream.

Summary: A lovely moisturiser to get as a gift but may not be worth the full purchase price
