Advantages: Helpful staff, great place to "window shop" for all those shoes!!
Disadvantages: Lots of very expensive things, you have to pay for toilets
A must visit when in London shopping. It is a beautiful building. You come out of Knightsbridge tube station to a side entrance and go straight into the store where you will find store guides to help you on your way.
Yes Harrods is expensive but not over priced. They sell very good quality, designer products but they do sell "normal" priced goods too! One such item was purchased by one of the children cheaper than they had seen it the day before, plus with her Harrods bag she walked around proudly displaying it the rest of the day!
I have found the selection of things amazing and the selection of prices astounding! To go from one section where everything costs more than I would spend on a car to another with teddies that are pocket money priced!
The Christmas shop was up and running and we managed to get some things here that again the price was on par with Notcutts, John Lewis...
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the tube station we came in on was closed for the return journey so they were really helpful with directions to the alternative station.
There is still a book of condolences for Diana and Dodi by a statue in the middle of the esculators which I did sign on my way out.
Summary: Well worth a visit

- 28/08/08 Only been the once, but I was quite surprised at how some parts were a bit tacky. And, some items in the furniture bit were outrageous. Like a Fendi bed/bedside ables. All in ultra bling. Dear god. The coffee shop was lovely though. |
