Advantages: Choice and iconic store

Disadvantages: Crowded

Located in the rather pricey area of Knightsbridge Harrods is probably the most famour store in Great Britain and is as much a tourist attraction as it is an actual shop, its fame is also enhanced by its rather flamboyant owner Mohammed Al Fayed whose son was killed alongside Princess Di in the car crash in Paris, Al Fyed has long campaigned over his belief that his sons death was not just as a result of a drunk body guard driving the car.

The store is easy to get to with a numer of tube stations hear by and certainly it is very prominent from the outside especially at this ime of year when the xmas lights will be on. Inside it is set out just like every other department store, it does have a huge foodhall in the basement and then the remaining floors are devoted to pretty much anything you could want to buy.

My favourite floor is the toy section surprisingly enough because there is just so much going on with staff demonstrating some of the toys and there are some wonderfully ornate and expensive dolls houses which make me pine for being a spoilt rich kid.

Some of the floors are rather cluttered in my opinion however the numerous clothes areas are very nice indeed however personally I prefer Harvey Nicholls for my clothes shopping if I'm splashing out.

Summary: Famous department store

I think it's the fact that it's so full of tourists that puts me off. They get in the way so much, I end up walking out in disgust. It's a bloody shop, now just move along and let the shoppers shop. Please... :)
