Advantages: Politeness, Care, General niceness
Disadvantages: Expensive
I must say that every time that I've been in London and visited Harrods, I've always felt happy there. In 1999, I was on a long holiday in Londond, and things really were not going well for me emotionally, and it was like the film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'- I felt that while I was in Harrods, I was safe... Everyone is so helpful and pleasant, and even when they were really busy, they still didn't show that they were irritated if someone took a long time to choose, or whatever. I went to the Book Dept and the assistant and I had a long chat about some books and he went to a lot of trouble to find a particular book for me. I went to the handbag dept and again, they searched for a soft leather bag I wanted. I saw no evidence of problems with a dress code although I did see two young girls being asked, very politely to remove their knapsacks from their shoulders because they might knock down ornaments. In every place, the tea shop , even the loo, the assistants were there to assist and I would recommend this shop to anyone.
