the best department store (Selfridges)

Advantages: the Yo! sushi bar and young trend area

Disadvantages: the majority of the store stocks designer brands at expensive prices

If i had to choose one department store to go to whilst in London i would definitely choose Selfridges. Entering from the Oxford Street entrance you walk through the handbag section and then into the perfume and make-up areas. From here you can go through to the foodhall which has a supermarket style shop and also some mini restaurants where you can enjoy food from sandwiches to my favourite, the Yo! sushi bar. At busy times you can wait up to twenty minutes but it is definitely worth it. The rest of the department store is mainly designer clothing from Gucci to Armani to Juicy Couture. However, there is high street brand area which sells brands including Lipsy, All Saints, Diesel and Topshop. In this area there is a also a tattoo and body piercing studio. In my opinion Selfridges has everything you could want from a department store and more.

Summary: a definite must for a visit when on Oxford street
