Advantages: Can find some good bargains if you look, redditch one not usually too busy

Disadvantages: Can be a lot of tacky stuff, clothes more suited for older and old-fashioned women

T J Hughes is, in my opinion, a very odd department store!!

The one I have visited, and have on various occasions now, is the one in Redditch, nr Birmingham.

If you look properly you would probably be able to find some bargain buys. However I find that some of the items they sell, is pure rubbish!

The good things they sell:
Electrical appliances - ranges from kitchen appliances of all sorts, to televisions. Can get some of these at a good buy, which is particularly useful if you are a student!

Kitchen equipment - all sorts of crockery, they've got some realy funky mugs at cheap prices, oo they also do glasses and other kitchen equipment is cheap i.e. wooden/plastic spoons, mashers, spatulas etc.

Perfume - you can find some good perfumes. A lot of these are the celebrity perfumes i.e. Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, The Beckhams etc, but you do get the real thing and they are the cheapest I have seen them

Clothes - a very small amount of their clothes are what I would describe as decent. Is more suited for old fashioned people. You can find some fashionable shoes for a low price, though they may just be plain flat ones.

There are many other things that T J Hughers sells, though these are the most decent.

It's worth a look around if you have plenty of time and it's not too busy, you might be able to bag a bargain, just beware some of the stuff can be tacky (and I'm no snob).

Summary: An ok department store which is worth a look if you have plenty of time! Might find a bargain!
