T J Hughes is a department store specialising in sellng a wide range of products at discounted prices. Although the store originates from Scotland, there are now a number of branches across the UK as well as online site you can also buy from. I have visited the branch located in Watford (in Hertfordshire) numerous times so can talk ... Read the complete review

I discovered TJ Hughes about 2 years ago through a friend who really recommended it. The store that I visit seems to have everything you could possibly ever want - toiletries, beds, make up , gazeabos. There are so many different departments spread across five floors, it is a bit of a challenge finding anything as the store is not layed ... Read the complete review

I have the opportunity to visit two different branches of TJ Hughes in different parts of the country, and Boy aren't they different! So much so that I almost thought it was a waste of time to review them, but for the sake of diversity (very now buzz word) I will. Store number 1- Wolverhampton. I discovered T J Hughes about two years ago. On first entering the store it resembles a bit of a mixture of everything; gardening, household, clothing and cheap toiletries. I then discovered it's secret for me. It has a mixture of make-up and hair dyes at good prices. You can buy Max Factor Lip Finity for £2.50 compared to ... Read the complete review

T J Hughes is right in the centre of St Helens shopping arcade, it is always the place to be if you are after a bargain. They have a large selection to choose from which include women, mens and childrens wear, toys, bedding, electrical goods, make up and perfume, and much more. The quality of the clothing is very good, and there is ... Read the complete review

T J Hughes is, in my opinion, a very odd department store!! The one I have visited, and have on various occasions now, is the one in Redditch, nr Birmingham. If you look properly you would probably be able to find some bargain buys. However I find that some of the items they sell, is pure rubbish! The good things ... Read the complete review

Although TJ Hughes doesn't give the outward impression of an old fashioned emporium I think deep down in its little heart it expects Charles Dickens himself to pop on for a quick bargain. Yes, I do enjoy this shop , its not just the bustle of the customers as they seek out that elusive 'bargain buy' or the scampering of the staff as ... Read the complete review

So, I've never really been that much of a big fan of the store until last week. I used to think it was just yet another bargain basement shop swarming with pentioners battering each other with thier walking sticks to get the best deals. How wrong was I!!! This store is great, I visited the one in Chester and was ... Read the complete review

TJ Hughes - the bargain emporium. Seriously! If you're the sort of person who likes style, quality, and exclusive brands above all, and prefers your purchasing to be done in the quiet calm that only a lot of money can buy... then steer as clear of here as you can. Although there is the usual tat here that you can find in any discount ... Read the complete review

I dont know if i would describe my local tj hughes as a department store but i still love it. My local store in plymouth has 2 floors of fairly good size. Lower floor has seasonal goods, perfumes, clothes and toys and the upper floor has more clothes and homeware and electrical goods. I especially love TJ Hughes at this time ... TJ Hughes is, according to its website, the big discount department store. And who am I to argue with that summary? There are currently 50 TJ Hughes stores across the UK and they're well worth a visit if you're looking for premium brands at up to 70% off the RRP. I've visited a few branches of TJ Hughes over the years and the products ... Read the complete review

TJ Hughes is a discount store, very similar to Matalan in the fact that they sell a lot of clothes - men's,women's and childrens and also a lot of other products such as books, cheap DVDs ( not chart titles), perfume, toiletries, cosmetics, seasonal items, toys etc at very low prices. The clothes department is not what I would call very ... Read the complete review

We have been after some garden furniture and knew it was out of stock so telephoned yesterday to ask if it was in and told yes. So drove 39 miles to Dumfries after borrowing a vehicle to be told they were not back in stock! After borrowing a vehicle and having a wasted 80 mile round trip on a beautiful sunny day we will not be shopping in that shop again. Youngsters serving polite and helpful but shameful support from management. We asked if we could pay for the produce so it be saved when it comes in and told no, also about delivery and no response. WILL NOT WASTE OUR TIME SHOPPING THERE AGAIN.
