Dermalogica Conditioning Body Wash
by europe-chick
I was 'talked' into buying the Dermalogica conditioning body wash when on holiday in the US last summer. Well I say 'talked' into, but I'm really easy to convince to buy any nice lotion or potion or make up, so there really wasn't much 'talking' into needed! I was already buying the Dermalogica exfoliating body scrub anyway and the sales ... assistant mentioned that if you mix the body scrub with the shower gel you get a quick skin polishing cleansing shower if you are in a rush, there you go - sold!
The body wash comes in a really large bottle, at just short of 500ml, and a little really does go a long way. The bottle ended up lasting me around 4 months. I love that the bottle has a pump dispenser as I sometimes find with the large bottles of shower gel that they are difficult for wet soapy hands to manage in the shower. I do normally buy the Philosophy shower gels which are the same size, but without the pump, and I've lost count of the number of times they have slipped out of my hands onto my feet or toes, ouch! So the pump is an absolutely brilliant idea. In fact I've saved the pump, and I keep meaning to see if it will fit on my Philosopy shower gel bottles. I think that I paid around $25.00 for this shower gel in the US last summer, I dread to think how much it would be here so I've not looked!
This is a rich, skin conditioning botanical cleanser for the entire body. Like the whole of the Dermalogica range it contains no artificial fragrance or colour, thereby making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. You can use this as a conditioning shower gel, or you can add it directly into running water for a foaming bath soak.
I have to say that I was really impressed with this body wash, it lathers up really well and it leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft and smooth. Although my skin felt really clean and cleansed, it didn't feel stripped of moisture, in fact this it felt really quite moisturised. It has a fresh natural fragrance, which lingers ever so slightly on my skin, but it is not overpowering at all, so it doesn't clash with my perfume or with any other perfumed products that I might use.
This is suitable for the whole family to use. My husband has also used this occasionally and has been impressed, and apparently ''it doesn't smelly girly''! I've also used this on my little nephews skin as well when he stays over.
Would I buy this again, probably not, well maybe in the US. I did really love this and was impressed with it, however I'm not sure that it's worth the high price. I think that you can can get other premium shower gels just as good for less money. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this at all, in fact it's one of the best shower gels I've used, I just keep stuggling with the price aspect. If I was having a bit of a splurge, or it was a gift then maybe. Read the complete review |

Dermalogica Exfoliating Body Scrub
by europe-chick
I became slightly addicted to Dermalogica products last summer. I bought a wide range of the products whilst on holiday in the US, I was impressed with everything that I bought, in fact throughout the holiday I kept on buying other items from the range!
One of the products that I bought was the Dermalogica exfoliating body ... scrub. I don't normally spend a lot on body scrubs, I normally just use a cheap and cheerfull body scrub, however as I mentioned I got a bit carried away with my Dermalogica spending spree and so I ended up buying this.
The body scrub comes in a 150g tube, with a flip top lid, and it stands upside down on its lid in the shower. This makes it really easy for wet sticky hands to grasp it in the shower and squeeze the body scrub out. I think that I paid around $22.00 in the US, I've seen it online here for around £20.00, as with all Dermalogica products it is much cheaper in the US.
This is a gorgeous creamy, lightly-foaming body scrub that dramatically smoothes, polishes and energizes your skin. It contains refreshing essential oils to revitalize your body and awaken your senses. Like the whole of the Dermalogica range it contains no artificial fragrance or colour, thereby making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
To use this you just squeeze a blob of the body scrub into your wet hands. Then massage it over your entire body and work it into a light lather. Rinse it off thoroughly and pat your skin dry.
A little tip that the sales assistant gave me was to mix the body scrub with your shower gel for a quick skin polishing cleansing shower if you are in a rush. She obviously was reccomending the Dermalogica shower gel (which I did end up buying!). I have actually followed this tip many times if I've been in a rush, and it works perfectly.
I have to say that I was really impressed with this body scrub, even after just the first use I noticed immediate results, my skin was much brighter and softer and smoother. Even my husband commented that my skin was softer. I found that I tended to use this once or twice a week on average, and it kept my skin in perfect, tip top condition. It was really quick and easy to use and easy to rinse off as well, I've used some body scrubs that have been murder to wash off, they tend to cling to your skin, not so with this one.
I would buy this body scrub again, however I will probably wait for our next holiday, or maybe ask for it as a gift. I'm not sure that I can justify £20.00 for a body scrub. I was really impressed with it though so maybe I'll just go ahead and buy it again anyway......... Read the complete review |
