Advantages: Effective, no residue
Disadvantages: None
Being nearly 30, I sometimes get embarrassed about how bad my skin can get. As a teenager I had perfect skin but when I hit my mid twenties and after having two children, my hormones seemed to go haywire and I started to suffer from rosacea. This has got worse over the years and I have always struggled to find anything effective for my skin condition. I normally have the avoid any spot treatments whatsoever as my skin is so sensitive and rosacea isn't like 'normal' acne. However, being a fan of Dermalogica anyway and understanding that it's brand is more high end than your usual spot treatments, I decided to bit the bullet and give it a try. While no product will ever fully banish my terrible skin, the treatment was the most effective I have ever tried.
I like that the product absorbs very quickly and without a trace too. The amount of treatments I have tried which leave a gloopy residue afterwards drives me mad, but this one totally absorbed without a trace. Also, another important point for me was the fact that it doesn't dry out your skin either. Having such sensitive and at times, terrible skin, drying it out too is a total no no for me, so this product gained definite thumbs up from me here. Also, with other spot treatments, I have found that the product takes quite a while to actually work, whereas for me, this worked very quickly and I noticed reduced swelling and redness within around 5 hours.
The product is really simple to use and requires that you simply apply to the breakout area before moisturising or applying anything else to the skin. You then simply need to reapply every 6 to 8 hours until the breakout has gone. The 'miracle cure' in this product is actually sulphur, which works to prevent the breakout or clear them quickly.
The product doesn't last me too long, given the amount of times I have to use it, but for somebody with fairly normal skin with the odd break out here and there, this product will last quite a while as you only need apply a tiny amount for each breakout. Given the farly high price (between £11 -£13) (in comparison to other spot treatments on the market), it doesn't work out too expensive when you think how long this product will last.
As a cheeky bit at the bottom of this review, if anyone else has found an effective treatment for rosacea please let me know!!! ; )
Summary: Excellent - even for problem skin such as rosacea
