Advantages: Lovely scent, really nice and gentle on my skin

Disadvantages: expensive and not strong enough

I received this as a freebie from my Dermalogica salon for being a good customer. To be honest I would have preferred a lotion or potion for my facial skin but never one to look a gift horse in the mouth I gratefully accepted it.

The environmental control deodorant retails at £13.50 which I think it uber expensive for a deodorant (well at least for one that doesn't come with matching perfume) so I was expecting good things from it.

The deodorant is designed to be a more natural alternative to shop deodorants which contain loads of chemicals. This uses loads of essential oils instead to inhibit the bacteria which when mixed with sweat causes unpleasant smells.

The scent is a bit of a strange one but is actually really lovely. It smells strongly of a herbal make-up and there is hints of lemon and sage in it. I have never worn a deodorant that smelt like this and to me it smelt more like some sort of aromatherapy oil than a deodorant. I do think the smell is really nice though once you have got used to it. I just wish it was a little bit stronger so I could smell it when I have my clothes on as it is quite subtle.

The deodorant is a roll on so is easy to use. I find that with stick deodorants that they can be too hard to glide on my skin properly whereas this just rolls on and covers my underarms with only a couple of rolls.

The absolute best thing about this particular deodorant is that it is so gentle on my underarms. I have never felt even the tiniest hint of irritation whilst using it including after I have shaved my underarm area and this is a real rarity as most deodorants cause a little stinging after shaving even when they claim to be sensitive ones.

The only thing that I don't like about this deodorant is that I just don't think it is strong enough. It doesn't really do much for sweating and although the scent is lovely it fades within a few hours and then occasionally there is the slightest hint of a smell. Now I actually don't sweat too much under my arms so I usually don't smell but I can imagine that for anyone who actually does sweat a lot then this deodorant would be pretty much useless for their needs. I wouldn't dream of using this say when I was going to the gym as I know it wouldn't offer the protection that I would need.

Overall I like this and think it is good but I don't think it is good enough to warrant its frankly exorbitant price tag.

Summary: Good but not good enough to warrant it's price tag
