Advantages: non-drying, light, pleasant texture, unscented but pleasant aroma

well, although the dermalogica packaging says 'professional recommendation advised'. i didn't seek any and so perhaps only have myself to blame for not being thoroughly enraptured by this product. i have combination skin that's now thirty years old and in the last couple of years has become very dry and irritated during the winter months, to the point where my face was continually causing me tight, physical discomfort no matter how much moisturiser i slathered on. however, i also have a tendency to blackheads on my nose and chin. i don't have a problem with this product, i just don't find it particularly wonderful. it doesn't create any negative effects, and it isn't at all heavy or oily (in fact it's very light), but i am not particularly aware of many positive effects either, althouhg as i say, this is probably becasue of the combination aspect of my skin. i prefer to remove the product with damp cotton pads or, better still, the muslin flannel that i got with my eve lom cleanser (i don't receommend eve lom either, but the flannel is good!), although it advises you to rinse off. my skin no longer feels irritated, which obviously is a bonus, but because i also have the blackhead issue, my face doesn't feel totally clean either. i am yet to find the ideal cleanser, but i am going to try ponds cold cream as reviews here suggest it's the very thing i seek! in the meantime, i would say that if you have very dry, sensitive skin and no blackheads, you may well like this product. but for combination skin i would think about looking elsewhere.
