This Medibac Clearing skin wash comes from the highly respected name of Dermalogica. A name I have learned to trust dew to my good friend that works in the industry and is a qualified dermatologist. What she doesn't know about skin and how to treat it isn't worth knowing. I constantly get wonderful sample products, not sample size, full size. And more times than not a good discount on her recommended products.

This was free and seeing the price it sells for I'm glad it was.
This comes in the flat bottomed, flat topped style bottle that Dermalogica like to use on their cleansers. The rest of the tub is the usual white body with dark grey print and lid.


This product was specifically designed for people suffering with oily skin. Most people with this problem then have the frustrating and embarrassing problem of spots and blemishes as the excess oil clogs the pores. Frustratingly though a lot of people with oily skin, also have very dry patches in certain areas of their face. This can be a result of harsh products that they have used in the hope of clearing their oil problem, or simply like most people they have combination skin. This facial wash works to reduce and balance out, the overactive sebaceous glands that result in the overproduction of oil. A delicate balance is necessary in treating such problems, as striping the skin of all it's oils is not recommended the skin needs a certain amount of these oils to lubricate it like a natural moisturiser.

That's what this is, a natural product with only all natural ingredients. Such as Tee Tree oil, citrus fruits, licorice, milk thistle and salicylic acid to name just a few. These and the remaining ingredients detoxify, purify, cleanse and tone your skin while balancing the natural levels, and leaving you with pure, clean, beautiful skin.

This product as powerful as it is, should be used in the same way as you would your normal cleanser. Dampen your skin with warm water. Apply a small blob of the fresh scented gel from the pump top tub out on to your fingertips and apply to your face. Massage into the skin, but as always avoid the delicate eye area as this is very easily irritated no matter how gentle the product or it's ingredients. As I always recommend leave for the same amount of time that it took you to apply, just to give it a chance to work fully and penetrate all those pores that you want unclogged. That's around four minuets in total. Then as with any face wash, rinse off with plenty of clean, fresh, warm water and pat dry.

It's important to make sure you remove all of the product as leaving any residue can result in over drying of the skin, as this is only meant to be used as directed then washed off. Remember this is for overly oily skin and should not be used if you don't have this problem. If as I mentioned earlier, you have combination skin DON'T apply this to the dry parts of your skin as its designed to remove oil and if there is no oil to start off with the skin can become painful.

This does work for what it's developed to do. But it isn't for everyone, this isn't one of the Dermalogica products that is just beneficial, it's functional and so you must have the problem that needs correcting.
