Advantages: Had a quite good effect on my oily and spot-prone skin

Disadvantages: Not effective enough to warrant the price tag

Neutrogena products tend not to be at the top of my list of things to buy given their rather expensive price tag, so I was thrilled to receive some sample-size products from a relative in the US. These were not as big as the products that you can buy in the shops here, but they were big enough to get a good feel for the products.

***The Masque***
The masque itself is a clear liquid that has a bit of a gel-like consistency. To use, you simply apply a thin layer to your face and the ingredients are intended to work together to get rid of excess sebum (oil) in your skin that might otherwise clog your pores and contribute to the development of spots and blackheads. As someone who has oily skin and frequently suffers from blackheads and blemishes, this masque seemed like a godsend.

***The Results***
After washing the masque off, my skin felt a bit tight but this is quite normal for me after using a face mask of any kind. Naturally I went to expect my skin for any first-time usage indications that it had had some effect. While there wasn't any significant difference, my blackheads looked less noticeable, which I was pleased about. I continued to use my sample on a twice-weekly basis for three weeks (until it finally ran out) and have noticed quite a big reduction in the number of blemishes and blackheads on my skin. I wouldn't say that they were stopped appearing altogether but they were nothing like as bad as the previous ones that appeared, and my oily skin is mattified somewhat too and doesn't look as shiny as before.

***The Price***
Unfortunately good results don't seem to come without a hefty price tag, and this is no real exception. Having had a quick look around Amazon, it seems that you can expect to pay £28+ for a 75ml tube.

***Overall Thoughts***
Overall, this masque seems to do a good job of sorting out my oily and spot prone complexion to a large extent but to be honest, it is far too expensive to justify me buying a tube for future use. Even on Amazon (where I'd hoped to get it a bit cheaper), it was still in the region of £27-£28+, which is a lot more than I am prepared to for a product like this. I like the results but the price tag is just too hefty!

Summary: I doubt I'll buy this given the price!

For some reason, it is 'masque' on the packaging and not a typo at my end. I think Dermalogica is a US brand so maybe that has something to do with it.

I though it was a "mask", but I really wouldn't know about this.
