Advantages: Good trial sizes which can last up to 3 months and marked improvements in skin after a week's use
Disadvantages: Products sold individually can be a bit pricey
I was recommended this kit from my beautician after discovering that I have particularly sensitive skin. The kit at the salon cost me £26 but I'm sure you can find this for cheaper on the likes of eBay etc. The kit comes in a neat and handy travel sized bag that zips up. Get rid of the unnecessarily packaging (i.e. the cardboard which pads the kit up - why?!) and you can fit all your other beauty essentials.
The kit contains the following:
Ultra Calming cleanser (50ml)
Use this first and the small bottle goes a long way. Around a 5p sized squart can clean your entire face. There is only a slight lemony smell and the cleanser is velvety to the touch. Doesn't sting (unlike some of the boots own brands) and can be wiped off rather than washed off, although I haven't tried this.
Soothing Protection Spray (50ml)
Again only has a slight lemony smell - I think that's Dermologica's standard scent. Spritz the face and neck - i've had mine for 3 months now and still have 1/4 of a bottle (used every day once a day). Doesn't feel like i'm caking various layers of products on either - very refreshing!
Barrier repair (10ml)
This is a silicon based moisturiser which has a slight plastic smell but is bearable. The texture is slightly weird - very velvety, sometimes a bit too velvety and it takes some time to "absorb" into the skin. However, this is the crux of the range. I tried this on the first night and the next morning noticed a definite change in my skin - plump and very hydrated! Also if you "spot" blobs across your face and spread it around, it lasts a lot longer than if you put it on your hand and put it on your face that way.
Total Eye Car (4ml)
Personally I can't see any difference in the skin around my eyes. But the cream itself is pleasant enough with, again, a small tube going a long way.
Climate control - lip treatment (4.5g)
This also comes in tub which I have been told by my beautician works wonder on dry patches around the body (i.e. knees and elbows). I was also told to use this stick underneath my nose when I had a cold as it helped the skin repair. It works wonder! It doesn't chap lips when it dries (which I find always happens to other lip balms) and smells lucious (again, a hint of lemon!).
There are also 2 packets of samples which I didn't find useful at all - one sample of each product wasn't enough for me to see any difference.
Overall, highly recommended and worth getting just so you can trial all the useful Dermologica products without having to splash out for each product individually.
Summary: A great opportunity to try the Dermologica sensitized range
