Advantages: Positive glow to my skin, healthier skin.

Disadvantages: Expensive.

Regardless of which type of skin you may have, we all need hydration to keep it looking and feeling healthy. Whether you have oily, combination or dry skin, the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster will leave you with a healthy glow. I have oily skin and for many people in my situation they think that oily skin doesn't need to be(or cannot be) hydrated.

The Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster is a hydrating serum that feels lightweight. Priced at around £30 for the 30ml bottle it doesn't come cheap, but then Dermalogica products have always been quite pricey. I think that for the price you pay you are getting a good amount of use from this product, it has lasted me a good 6 months as you need very little product.

Packaged in the typical Dermalogica way, it comes in a white bottle with Dermalogica branding in black. The lid is jet black also, giving it a classical finish and overall a clean look. The serum itself is certainly upto the job at hydrating my skin. Aswell as stating that 'this product hydrates my skin', the ingredients list also backs up the results I have seen. One of the key ingredients has to be Hyaluronic Acid, which can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water. This allows your skin to hold more hydration and improve elasticity and suppleness. Lavandula Angustifolia Oil helps with skin irritations, so those with sensitive skin wouldn't find this product as harsh as some similar products.

Application of the serum is very simple. I dispense a small amount of the serum onto my fingertips and gently massage it onto my face and neck. I cleanse before applying this product, you can also moisturise afterwards if you so desire. The results were not noticeable for a couple of days, but after persistent use within my skincare regime I found my skin to both look and feel a lot healthier. My skin didn't feel as dry and worn as previously and overall I didn't appear as tired in the face. The ingredients are as follows;

Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Glycerin, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Panthenol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Glycolipids, Hydrolyzed Algin, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Sea Water, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben.

Overall I am happy to give the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster 4 out of 5 Dooyoo stars. The reason being that whilst this product does work I think that the cost is a little high.

Summary: Hydration during the winter is important, why not try this?
