Advantages: Gentle and yet effective
Disadvantages: Not suitable for very sensitive skins. MUST WEAR AN SPF !!!
*How is it for ? *
This product is for anyone who wants an effective and easy way to help exfoliate the skin. For those with more mature skin types this is great to use on a daily basis to boost your skin-cell turn over since it slows down during the aging process. For those with more severe signs of aging ( thick, coarsened skin ) you may want to use stronger exfoliating treatments until your skin shows improvement. However, this product can be used on all skin types ( even for those with sensitive skins, but please see *how to use* for details ) and is effective for those with pigmentation issues as well for those who merely wish to help the exfoliation process along in general.
*How does it work ? *
This products contains a complex of alpha-hydroxy acids, salicylic acid and sulphur which works to exfoliate the skin in a gentle way. Do not fear acids however, as your skin naturally contains them and the versions of acids in this product are gentle and yet effective and they merely help dissolve dead skin cells to reveal fresh skin underneath. The reason why this product can be used with sensitive skin types is because, not only are the exfoliating products gentle, but it contains soothing plant extracts which will help keep the skin stable and supple.
Perfect for oily skin types because Salicylic acid is oil soluble and thus can dissolve excess oil on the skin before doing it's job. It's also great for dry skins/sensitive skins because it's a gentle member of the alpha-hydroxy acid family and I would recommend this for even sensitive skins ( see *how to use* ). VERY sensitive skins needs to be careful with any new products and thus I would recommend a patch-test.
For those who need extra help, a stronger version of these acids is glycolic acid. I would not recommend using any glycolic acids for sensitive skins/oilier skins however. It's too strong for sensitive skins and since it's a water based acid it therefore can not effectively get past any excess oil on the skin.
*How to Use*:
For the oilier skin types I would apply this to a clean face and throat, let it dry and then apply your normal moisturiser. For those with drier skin-types I would mix this with your moisturiser and for sensitive skin-types I would mix with a moisturiser in the morning for the first two weeks, then use morning and night after that.
Always remember that because this is an exfoliating product and it will be revealing fresh skin, you MUST always protect your skin without fail. I would recommend using an SPF cream with a PHYSICAL sunblock with this product. This is because chemical sunblocks must always go on first and since this contains exfoliating ingredients you may lose the full efficiency of a chemical sunblock which has been applied prior to this booster.
*Ingredients*:
Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Lactic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isodecyl Salicylate, Sodium Hydroxide (PH adjustment only), Sodium PCA, Salicylic Acid, Extracts of: Centaurea Cyanus Flower, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower, Hibiscus, Rosa-Sinensis; PEG-12 Dimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Lecithin, Retinol, Polysorbate 20, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyquaternium-37, Sclerotium Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben.
Summary: For an effective way of exfoliating by simply slotting into any skincare routine this is one to try.
