MS Publisher 2000 ... Publisher 2000 was a real disappointment to me. I installed it hoping that it would be better and just as easy to use as Publisher '98 had been. It wasn't! Publisher 98 was simple to use and perfect for those with no previous experience in DTP. You could just install it and instantly produce business cards, posters, banners, cards, recipe books, web pages, etc. The new version has so many 'fiddly' functions on it. You need to study the help files first and then find your way around. Although 98 was far from perfect, the new version is not worth buying. If you have Publisher 98 don't bother buying 2000. MS Publisher 2000 ... Publisher is a very good solution if you are on a budget, and need a desktop publisher, then you can do worse than this one. Whilst it lacks the precision and nice touchs of Adobe Pagemaker 6.5, the two are for different markets. Publisher brings DTP into the home, whilst Pagemaker is at the business end of the market, if not the professional end of the market. You can create very acceptable flyers, cards, documents, newsletters and the like with Publisher, and it offer you a lot of templates to get you started with it. However it is just a cheap and cheerful range, and if you are doing a professionally printed job, you will be exceedingly lucky to find anyw... MS Publisher 2000 ... they are trying to operate a home business, most people seem to consider a Desktop Publishing package to be totally superfluous. This is certainly not the case with Microsoft Publisher 2000. The main value of this product is the ability for a novice to create professional results with very little effort. I have personally used it to create my own pictorial business cards, letterheads, flyers for friends to advertise parties or other events and to build a website.
