Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard can be used to view, create, edit Adobe's PDF format files.
Installing is easy and using it is also not difficult.
It provides video and animation (Flash, .swf format) support for PDF files, really innovative.
In this version, we can create PDF files from screen capture, web page or clipboard images, which is very convenient. We can also create PDF forms or do scanned documents conversation to PDF. Another new function is to ditribute and collect data via PDF form which is very useful for completing electronic forms in a large group. It can be used for remote collaborations.
For my personal experience, most time, I use it for printing PDF files from word files, and editting the PDF files. Creating PDF files is usually straightforword but editting PDF files is really troublesome. Often the newly insert fonts are not comparable with original fonts and the layout sometimes is changed greatly. For example, chaos in layout is often seen when I try to delete/intert some words. So it is not as easy as in word processing. It seems the software is still to be improved to be used as a nice editing software.
When I try to print a lot of documents into a single PDF file, the files are very possible not in order! In most time, it needs manual handling the files' sequence. It is not so smart.
Another drawback is the big software size. It occupies too much space!
