“ Type: Yoghurts / Food quality: Organic food „
My 1 year old is intollerant to dairy products so eats Alpro Soya yogurts instead of normal yogurts. She had the forest fruits flavour for the first time today and she has never eaten anything so fast or with such a big smile on her face. In fact at times she was actually laughing whilst she was eating because she was enjoying it so much. Laughing whilst eating yogurt is actually quite a messy thing to do but I don't think you can get a more clear endorsement from a one year old that this flavour tastes really good!
On the more factual side you really couldn't tell that this is not a "proper" yogurt and with the added calcium it is good for source of calcium too. The soya desserts are low in fat but are not low on taste or creaminess either. I would recommend this flavour and Alpro as a whole to anyone needing to avoid dairy and also even to dairy eaters who want a bit more variety.
When I saw this "yofu" I had doubts because the buying price is a bit high compared to other common yoghurts. And I am not a fan of yoghurts, but I consume almost all that represents health and wellbeing.
But I was struck by the fact that the yogurt is made entirely of soy-based and is highly nutritious, even more as a normal yoghurt. I chose one of blueberries because the presentation was very simple, which i found quite nice, and the yofu is organic and all of the elements are made from soya and not from animals. It has a rich flavor with a refreshing touch, i don't know if it is mint, but leaves the impression that the blueberries were picked directly from the forest.
What I like most about this "yofu" combination of yogurt and tofu, is that you can't feel the typical unpleasant bitter taste at the end like most of the yoghurts and when you eat it you don't have a bloated belly, the fullness feeling or a dry mouth. Instead it makes you feel light, and the feeling of having eaten a slight and pleasant dessert fruit from the forest.
I definitily recommend it. The only drawback I found, as mentioned above, is the price. A bit expensive compared to the typical yogurt.
I have a dairy intolerance and so 'normal' yoghurts are off the menu for me. I love this product because it doesn't taste like it's made of Soya, and I actually think it tastes better than regular dairy yoghurt.
It has a nice berry flavour and is creamy too. I like putting it with fruit. This does have 'bits' of the berries in, but not great big chunks so its quite smooth.
Also another advantage of this product is the health benefits. Soya is extremely good for you, and this product has added calcium and vitamins, so you don't miss out despite not have milk in it. It's also low fat and doesnt contain all the additives most yoghurts contain.
For anyone worried itll taste weird or not right, dont! Its yummy, give it a go!
