Advantages: Tastes good, reasonably priced, dairy free.
Disadvantages: None.
Since I have an issue with dairy products from time to time, I have been exploring the alternatives. I love my dairy products but sometimes it gives me bad nausea and I have to stop. I love the taste of dairy products and really don't like missing out on it. I have tried soya products but particularly like the Alpro soya range. Their soya milk may taste different to normal milk but their yogurts are somewhat different.
Their yogurts taste like normal yogurt without that flour taste found in their soya milk. Infact it tastes much better than normal yogurt, it seems so full of strawberry flavour with bits of strawberry (The strawberry bits use to be bigger but like with everything else it gotten smaller or non existant). Its not sour, its creamy and sweet but not so much that it is too sickly but enough to hold its strawberry flavour. Its looks like normal yogurt in terms of texture smooth and thick and since it is strawberry flavour it appears as a baby pink colour. On opening the pot I can smell the strawberry scent wafting. You really couldn't tell if you was eating a dairy yogurt or not, if you was tasting it without its label.
The pot itself is part of a 4 pack with a different design as shown by dooyoo. It still has it blue green colour colour scheme but with images of juicy strawberries and a spoon full of the pink yogurt.
Alpro yogurts are said to be a delicious dairy free alternative to yogurt made with a blend of soya beans and real fruit, calcium and vitamins, that is naturally low in saturated fat. (Reference: alprosoya website) I have to agree with the description having tasted other flavours in Alpro yogurt range. Out of this range the ones that stand out to me are the cherry and strawberry flavours. I'm so glad they do the pack of 4 for the strawberry flavour as its the best one, I wish they would do the same for cherry. These are currently priced as £1.50 at asda as special off otherwise they are usually £1.58. Not much of a saving but every little helps.
These are nice to snack on it and I find it filling. Its a great alternative to normal yogurt, so much so I tend to purchase these even when I can tolerate dairy.
Summary: Tasty alternative to normal fruit yogurts.
