Advantages: Quick and easy to make, very tasty

Disadvantages: None (unless you count sticky fingers!)

Nearly everyone has at some time or other enjoyed Angel Delight be it Banana, Strawberry, Butterscotch or, in my case, Chocolate flavour.

This creamy, mousse like dessert is often a childrens favourite but as a big kid myself this is still one of my favourites.

Once upon a time I could remember a Vanilla Flavour but haven't seen this about recently.

Angel Delight comes as a powder in packet form. My packet is predominently brown in colour with a picture of a rather cheeky lad with two big rings of Angel Delight for glasses!

Written in white at the top is 'Angel Delight' , look closer and you will see a halo above the 'g' in Angel and the 'g' in Delight has devils horns on the top curve and a devils tail at the end!

The bottom of the packet states ' Instant Dessert for Little Angels!', so I'm ok in that respect then! hehe.

Time to rip open the packet and you are greeted with a lovely warm chocolate aroma. It is a 'full' chocolate smell. The powder looks very akin the Nesquik milkshake powder. There is 67g of this wonderful dessert in a packet although why Kraft, the makers, don't round it up to 70g is beyond me.

To make you simply add the contents to a bowl with half a pint (300ml) of milk, best with either semi skimmed or whole, and whisk away till light and creamy, usually 2/3 minutes.

Then spoon into dishes and leave to thicken for 5 minutes. Not wasted minutes though as this gives you time to lick the bowl out! Yummy!

On the back of the pack, besides instructions, you are informed the 67g makes 4 servings so thats 16.75g each if you want to be picky!

It contains 112 calories per serving, is suitable for vegetarians and had no artificial coluring or preservatives. There is 12.5g of sugar and 4.2g of fat, not that healthy but not that bad either! My packet has a Best Before Date of July 06 - no way is it going to stay in my cupboard until then!

So you've waited the 5 mins, licked the bowl clean and are ready to eat. On looking at the Angel Delight, it does not look any different from other mousse type desserts but as you glide your spoon into this wonderful mixture you can hear the air bubbles, (from that whisking) popping!

The taste is heavenly, very chocolately but not sickly, thats due to the fact that it contains Cocoa and not actual chocolate. The chocolate taste lingers from spoonful to spoonful. It is a very smooth taste and glides down the throat leaving that full chocolate flavour behind albeit light in texture.

It melts away in your mouth and is just sweet enough to fulfil that 'sweet' craving without filling you up like some desserts.

There is no bitter or different aftertaste to this, it tastes the same from start to finish.

I have to borrow the Creme Egg saying and ask 'How Do You Eat Yours?'. Do you just eat a small amount from the end of the spoon...or the whole amount? Do you scoop it up with wafers... or eat from the underside of the spoon?

Whatever your choice the taste is just as good and I am almost disappointed when I get to the end and scrape every little bit out! Probably the big kid in me!

For variation we sometimes put hundreds and thousands in before whisking or you could add Smarties, silver icing balls or even some Buttons for an even more chocolately taste. You could add a packet to a pint of milk and make a milkshake.

The variations are endless and don't always involve spoons! ;-)

So having sampled the portions I made purely in the interests of this review and Dooyoo, I will just HAVE to make some more!! At 55p a packet (Tescos) its cheap and why not buy all the flavours. It will save you going back again!
