Asda Choc Ices - Milk Choc Flavour

Advantages: Cheap and now have plastic wrappers.
Disadvantages: Not Cadbury's chocolate and have no added fibre now the packets arn't paper!
My kids, as with most children, have a real penchant for ice cream and iced desserts. At Asda at the moment and for some time now, there has been an ongoing offer on the lollies and ice cream desserts, these being "2 for £3.00", though this is a god price, I do find that the amount my kids go through, what with visits from friends and nieces, I do get through these at a rate of knots, so a cheaper alternative was required.
The product I will now review is - "Asda, 10 milk choc ices"
I have to be honest these were my favourite as a child, it was a real treat to go the cinema on a Saturday lunchtime for the matinee performance then buy a choc ice in the interval...memories!
When I first spied these the box is coloured so brightly they were the first thing that I noticed in that particular freezer.
The box is a deep purple colour with all the relevant information present, brand name, product name, contents, the fact that these don't contain any artificial colours or flavourings, and also no hydrogenated fat.
The box as stated earlier, contains 10 choc ices. Each ice is around 3 ½" by 2 ½", and about1 ½" deep, this a nice and substantial amount of ice cream.
The chocolate covering in my opinion could do with being a little thicker, but is nice none the less.
The taste is not too bad at all. The vanilla ice cream is smooth and flavoursome, with the chocolate being nice enough, the covering is not technically chocolate, but a milk chocolate flavoured coating, but I was not expecting Cadbury's when I say how much they cost!
One thing I will say is that I prefer the outer wrap compared to wraps of old. The new wraps are plastic, the old ones were made of paper, and no matter how hard I tried I would always end up ingesting a good proportion of the paper, yes I know that this may have equated to a good amount of my daily fibre but never the less!
The nutritional information is as follows-
Per choc ice (70ml),
129 kcal,
11.6g carbohydrates,
11.1g of which sugars,
8.7g fat,
7.6g of which saturates.
Allergy advice states that these contain milk and soya, and may also contain traces of nuts and/or seeds.
These are however suitable for vegetarians.
These cost 99p a box, as these are an Asda own branded item these will of course be available there only.
