“ Brand: Asda / Type: Cheesecake „
I have a very sweet tooth and when I am feeling sorry for myself the best pick me up is something sweet. So I was extremely pleased when Mr Lools returned from a solo shopping trip at Asda with a pack of 2 Asda Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake slices. I had very high hopes just by looking at the product that I would like them.
The packaging is very plain a clear plastic container which holds 2 cheesecake slices with a label on to outline what the product is. The packaging is pretty non descript. It's the lovely looking cheesecake inside which will attract you to the product.
A pack containing two cheesecake slices (200g) costs £1.97 in Asda. This is reasonably expensive considering you only get two medium slices of cheesecake and Asda sell full cheesecakes for £2. However as these are so delicious these are worth the money as a little treat every now and then.
The cheesecake has a chocolate biscuit base with a layer of vanilla cheesecake on top of it. There is then a layer of soft chocolate cheesecake with large chocolate brownie pieces in it. On top of the cheesecake slices there are chocolate shavings. Just by looking at the cheesecake you can tell it tastes sweet and rich.
The scent is very appealing a rich creamy chocolate scent.
The initial taste to hit you when you bite into the cheesecake is of chocolate as you would expect. This is a rich chocolate taste which is sweet but with a nice creamy taste to it which compliments the creamy vanilla taste very well. The chocolate is very sweet and quite sickly but the vanilla taste ensures the cheesecake is not overly sickly. The base is crumbly and just moist enough and is not too dry like some cheesecake bases are. The chocolate brownie pieces are particularly rich and have a nice chewy texture which goes well with the chocolate and vanilla cheesecake filling. The after taste in your mouth is definitely of chocolate which is a strong milk chocolate taste with a slight creamy hint of vanilla.

Therefore for those that are on a diet don't even bother with this product. However if you are wanting a treat ignore the fact this has a high calorie and fat content and tuck in as this is a delicious snack.
The cheesecake is suitable for vegetarians but it does contain, gluten, wheat, milk, eggs, soya and may contain nuts.
This is one of my favourite cheesecakes, due to the sweet chocolately brownie pieces mixed with the creamy vanilla flavours. It is perfect for those who have a sweet tooth like myself.
The amount of fat and calories in one slice is a disadvantage as is the cost so for those dieting or wanting to save some pennies this is probably not the product for you. But taste wise this is a very nice cheesecake, very sweet, very rich but makes the perfect treat.
I am a cheesecake fan, and although most cheesecakes are more neutral flavours, I thought I would try a chocolate brownie cheesecake slice from Asda. I did think, chocolate and cheesecake would be a very sickly combination but I found it is my all time favourite cheesecake.
Asda price 2 chocolate brownie cheesecakes at £1.97, so under £1 per slice.
The cheesecake has a biscuit base with a creamy vanilla cheesecake sitting on top of a layer of chocolate brownie and with large brownie pieces in.
Although it is called a chocolate brownie cheesecake this is due to the brownie and not the flavour of the cheesecake. I think this was a sensible choice by Asda to make the main substance vanilla, if it had been chocolate as well, it would have been too sickly and over the top.
There is chocolate shavings and sauce on the top as well as the soft chocolate brownie pieces within the cheesecake, it tastes gorgeous. There is enough chocolate but also other flavours like the creamy vanilla which also isn't too overpowering and the crumbly biscuit base which just adds to the flavour.
I think if you separated all the flavours they wouldn't be that amazing, but together they taste great. The flavours are rich in combination and really make this a great dessert or treat. I am glad they don't sell this as a whole cheesecake as I would buy one, I like the option to have a slice, and give the other to my husband, or save it for later.
