      Very helpful

Nice enough and not a pudding I would avoid in the future!

When it comes to puddings I just simply adore them! I wouldn't say I'm a particular sweet or savoury fan either to be honest with you just a fan of food and a complete piglet really!

Me and my mate who I'm staying with at the moment love to browse around Asda stores and the other day comes across this rhubarb crumble in the freezer section of the store and really fancied it and at a pound we simply couldn't resist it and why should we at that price!

      The Packaging:

Dark pink and black square box with a photograph of the crumble on the front of it. I am told that it is Asda Rhubarb Crumble 'Tangy rhubarb topped with a crunchy butter-enriched crumble' and that it serves 5 people and that it contains no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fat and that it is suitable for Vegetarians and that the weight of the crumble is 500g. Other information given on the box includes ingredients and allergy advice, storage and nutritional information, cooking instructions and contact details for Asda. It's an informative and nice looking box and inside the crumble of course the crumble is frozen and in a silver foil tray with a white cardboard easy to remover cover on the top of it!

      The Crumble Itself:

Easy enough to cook, you simply put this in it's tray in a pre-heated oven (best cooked from frozen) for 30-35 minutes. When cooked you get what appears to be a crumble with a lightly golden thickish looking topping and of course then all that is left to do is serve it. It is a little floppy though as it has a slightly soggish filling!

My only disappointment with this was the size of it. It says on the front of the box that it serves 5 people, well not unless one mouthful is all they want..... it really isn't. Me and my friend had a small bowl of it each with clotted cream and they seriously were not huge portions!

Taste wise though I liked it overall. The crumble topping really was a bit too crunchy and thick and really tasted a bit bread like but once it got involved with the pink rhubarb in syrupy sauce it all went very well indeed.

The rhubarb really was very tangy indeed. I didn't find it overly sweet and my mate complained that for her it was a little on the sour side and not as sweet as she would of appreciated it to be but me I liked the filling of this and there really was plenty of it to be fair to it. The rhubarb was soft and slightly melted down but smelt good and was easy to chew and digest with no coarse bits. I like the sweet and sour flavour of this loads!

An economy crumble and to be fair just by looking it you can tell that it is. It isn't a thick pudding and there really isn't a lot of it but it really was very tasty in my opinion. Sure maybe it could do with a little extra butter and cream to the actual crumble to add more flavour to it but that is my only criticism of this really and on the whole I though this was a very tasty little (little being the buzz word here!) pudding!
