Its time for another review on a really delicious dessert from Asda's 'Chosen by You' range. Usually when I see the words Sundae in a dessert, I really expect it to be just a mousse dessert with not that much else other than cream. However, this Sundae is a bit more like a trifle in a way. It is described as a sundae with 'Raspberry & vanilla flavour mousse, sweet Raspberry sauce, Strawberry Custard and soft sponge'.

It really is like a strawberry trifle. I was really pleased with the tastes; to be honest I am not sure I could tell the Raspberry from the Strawberry flavours but they are certainly amazing. The top of the sundae has a large amount of Mousse which is very light and very tasty; the rest is in a sort of swirly style with the sauce and custard and the sponge which is sort of in the middle of the dessert.

Whilst it is called Strawberry & Raspberry flavour the pictures on the packaging are only of Raspberries. Usually I am not a great lover of Raspberries, because I do not like the pips so would not buy them as a fruit but in a pudding like this, where there are no tiny pips present the taste is lovely. I also really like Strawberries, Vanilla flavours and I especially love the sponge mixed in with the whole dessert.


This lovely dessert is at a very reasonable price, only a £1.00 for 2 Desserts; (100g each) I think this is a pretty good bargain.

The information provided on the packaging is incredibly small and I struggled even with glasses to read it! Fortunately I am not allergic to any foods, but for those who are, I think Asda should really ensure that the information is more readable. Despite this, because this is such a delightful dessert, I must award it 5 Dooyoo stars.
