I love all sorts of puddings and hadn't had a sticky toffee sponge pudding for years so thought I would try this one from Aunt Bessie....now I am usually a fan of Aunt Bessie foods, but this time I was disappointed and really was not keen on this pudding at all. It looks lovely in the picture on the box; the sponge looks nice and moist with a thick layer of sticky toffee.... It is described as 'tempting sticky toffee pudding just the way you like it'. Unfortunately this pudding is most definitely not the way I like it.

You can oven cook the pudding or microwave. Microwave is actually recommended and it only takes around 3 minutes. When the pudding came out it looked and smelled delicious. I had decided that the best thing to have with it was cold custard and this is what I had. Unfortunately I found the sponge to be far too stodgy, it was almost as though it was slightly undercooked sponge (but I knew this wasn't the case as I had cooked it for the correct amount of time). The sticky toffee part was quite nice, although would be a tiny bit sickly if you ate too much.

I would say that I ate about half of the pudding; I didn't dislike it totally but it was nowhere near as good as I thought it would be. I am afraid I would not buy it again.
