Advantages: Tastes Good, Calories Pretty Low,

Disadvantages: You may want to eat the whole roll!

I am not a big ice cream fan mainly down to the calories in most ice creams although I do love to have a little treat now and again, also with buying ice cream tubs you never know how many calories you are consuming! Especially if you are like me and you go back for seconds!

Arctic roll is somewhat different to most ice creams out there; in fact it is a bit of a classic. I remember my mum buying this when I was a kid, then I don't remember seeing it for ages and ages until last week I was having a look at the Ice creams in Asda and spotted this next to the mousses!

I just fancied buying one, and am glad I did!

***What it is like***

Arctic Roll is basically vanilla flavoured ice cream with a raspberry swirl and then a nice spongy outside. It is very yummy and Moorish. The ice cream is not the best I have tasted but it all goes fantastically well together and I love the taste of the sponge. As with my ice creams I like to have a wafer or some sort of extra. I find eating ice cream on its own a bit boring so this is a perfect combination for me.

It comes shaped as a roll hence the name "Arctic Roll" and you can just cut yourself a portion or two! I would recommend that you leave it out for a good 5 minutes as it tends to be rock hard and is best enjoyed when a little soft!

I find because the ice cream is wrapped in the sponge outer layer, the ice cream does not melt as fast as if you just had ice cream on its own, which is an added bonus when you have children as I am always needing to see to them first.

The ice cream is a nice texture and overall it tastes very sweet and Moorish. I could easily eat most of it!

***Nutritional Values***

1/5 of this arctic roll is 110 Calories which is fantastic, and also saturated fat is at 2.3g so if you are watching your weight I think this is a pretty good option

It's a pretty good size of £260 Grams and you can get 4 to 5 big portions out of this, and for £1.85 it's not the cheapest but when you think about a whole family getting a full dessert out of it, I think it's pretty good going and also makes a nice change.

To be a bit healthier you could add some real raspberries or strawberries too

I got mine from Asda so I am sure you could find this now in most supermarkets.

They also do a chocolate version, I will probably try this one next!

Overall I give this 4/5!

Summary: Makes a nice change to just eating ice cream!
