Probably the best vegan product I've tried!

Booja Booja is a Norfolk based company that produces organic, dairy free and gluten free truffles and ice cream. All their products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

These particular truffles come in a round poplar wood box, rather like the ones brie or camembert come in. The label states what the product is, that these truffles are dairy free, cholesterol free and gluten free, and that "everyone needs a little booja-booja now and then". You open the lid to find gold paper, which when unwrapped reveals the standard corrugated material you get covering chocolates, and a Boojagram. The boojagram is a little square of black card with a motto and the website address written on it in gold. Mine is number 18 which says "The universe is not about you". Very profound!

Delving a little deeper you reach the chocolates. Immediately you'll notice the rich cocoa smell- delicious! In each box you get 7 chocolates which are each in individual little paper cases. The chocolates are about 2cm square and 1.5 cm deep. They're dusted with cocoa powder and have a slightly rough handmade look.

Biting into a chocolate, you'll find the texture smooth and dense, almost melting in your mouth with little crunchy hazelnut pieces. The taste is rich, creamy and dark, and the nuts nicely complement the chocolate. They're so rich I only want to have one at a time which means they last a lot longer.

These chocolates are definitely a luxury product. If you didn't know, I don't think you'd guess these are vegan and it's nice to find a product that doesn't disappoint like some dairy free things do.

My only critisicms with these are the price and availability. At £4.99 a box they're a rather extravagent purchase and one I like to save for a special treat, and then make last as long as possible. They're also not available in supermarkets so you'll need to go to a specialist store or buy online.
