I was doing my weekly shop online this week on tescos.com, and I was searching through the ice creams for something different I hadn't tried before and I saw these crunchie ice cream bars. I love crunchie chocolate bars but my boyfriend doesn't so I thought these would be great as id get to eat them all to myself! But unfortunately he tried one of these and actually really likes them, even though he wouldn't normally eat a crunchie chocolate bar.
They cost just £1 for four bars, which at 25p each you cant complain, as you would pay £1 each if you were to buy from an ice cream van. These came in a small bright orange box, and inside were four ice cream bars. I was surprised at how small they were actually.
These crunchie bars are like a choc ice, but in the shape of a mars bar, and inside is crunchie flavoured ice cream, topped with a layer of Cadburys chocolate. Inside the ice cream are pieces of the honeycomb centre you get in the chocolate bar crunchie version.
When I first tasted this ice cream, the chocolate was really smooth and you could tell it was cadburys, and the ice cream tasted strongly of crunchie. There were loads of bits of crunchie inside, and even though these were small, they were just enough as the crunchie flavoured as cream was very strong and it was getting a bit much. The ice cream was really creamy and tasted good quality. It was really nice when you got a piece of the chewy crunchie.
I would prefer this idea of crunchie ice cream if it was in a different design, like on a lolly such as like a magnum, I didn't like the way it was like a choc ice and you have to hold it with your hands, and get ice cream and chocolate melting on your hands.
Each crunchie ice cream bar contains 140 calories, which isnt too bad for a treat. They have a good shelf life, with mine having 3 years date on them which is good.
I will definitely be buying these again if they stay on offer for £1. They are great for a summers day or we like them as a dessert. Highly recommended.
I popped up to my local shop the other day to find myself a sweet treat and for some reason found myself browsing their freezers. It was here I found myself drawn to a box of Cadbury Crunchie Ice Cream Bars.
A box of 4 cost me just £1.
The box they come in is a bright, eyecatching orange with a picture of a bitten crunchie bar on the front, clearly telling us these are Cadbury Crunchie.
One of these Crunchie Ice Cream bars contain;
Each ice cream bar comes individually wrapped in a chocolate wrapper almost exactly the same as a Crunchie bar itself, that shiny, metallic orange, snazzy and jazzy look. Opening the bar I was met with what looked like a normal chocolate bar, if it wasn't for the fact it was cold I wouldn't of known any different. Biting into it the chocolate snapped satisfyingly, a sweet, creamy chocolate that is so easily recognised as Cadbury. Good quality, smooth, sweet tasting chocolate. My teeth soon sunk into a sumptuously soft, orange coloured ice cream. It was smooth, creamy yet not sickly so. The smooth ice cream was soon livened up though by by snazzy, jazzy crunchie pieces exciting the textures and flavours somewhat. It was nice to have something to bite into creating a little extra sweetness and crunch. These are not the best quality ice cream bars out there but they are very tasty and pleasureable to eat in my opinion. I'd definitely reccomend trying them, and I'm not even a fan of Crunchie chocolate bars really if I'm honest, these though are better than the Crunchie chocolate bar itself.
Well I have finally reached my due date but as yet there is absolutely no sign that this baby is going to make an appearance anytime soon. I have really going out of my mind with boredom so today as the sun was shining I decided to invite a couple of friends, along with their little ones, over for an afternoon in the garden.
I set out a load of blankets and dragged all the outdoor toys out of the garage and set ourselves for an afternoon on the sunshine. It was a glorious day and one of my friends the the fabulous idea of popping to the supermarket to pick up a bag of ice creams and lollies for the kids.
When the sun was it's warmest we retrieved the bag from the freezer and dished them out. The adults had either Crunchie or Mars lollies to choose between. Although I am not a huge fan of Crunchie bars and probably wouldn't have bought this one from the shop, I decided it was a good opportunity to try something new and I went for a Crunchie.
I've just checked online and a 4 pack of these ice cream bars is available from Tesco's costing a very reasonable £1. I do suspect that this may be significantly more in smaller shops and even more so if you were to buy them individually but I think that a £1 price tag is fantastic value. Each ice cream is 60g and comes in a distinctive wrapper quite similar to that of a Crunchie chocolate bar.
I was really impressed with ice cream, it was a really scrummy and pleasant suprise. The Crunchie flavoured ice cream is covered with a creamy layer of Cadbury chocolate and every now and then you find a small piece of Crunchie honeycomb which give a fabulous contrast to the creamy ice cream. I really enjoyed every single mouthful of this ice cream and now I've tried one I will definately be indulging again throughout the summer. Bring on the sunshine!
We bought these as an incentive to keep walking when we were on holiday recently. We felt that it was too warm for chocolate, but we still wanted something sweet so these ice-cream bars seemed the perfect solution. They cost us £1.50 for four and I'm sure you can buy them at most supermarkets. I have only ever seen them available to buy in packs of four, so I don't think they're the type of ice-cream you can buy individually, which is a perfect excuse to eat more than one! Each bar has 155 calories and is slightly shorter than the normal chocolate bar.
The bars come in a cardboard outer box and then each individual one has a plastic wrapper much the same as the chocolate bar. The wrapping features the same colours and a similar design to the classic purple and gold Crunchie bar.
The Crunchie ice-cream bar is a thick bar of golden, crunchie flavoured ice-cream interspersed with small balls of crunchy caramel type stuff that tastes of honeycomb, and all this encapsulated in a thin layer of milk chocolate. It is very delicious and the chocolate it just thin enough so it makes a nice 'snap' when you eat it. I ate my bar when it was in a slightly unfrozen state and it was still yummy, even though the ice-cream was quite soft and didn't last very long!
The taste of this chocolate is absolutely taste tantalizing which is a good thing in fact it is a very good thing.
The taste is delicious because as soon as you put the chocolate in your mouth you can taste the pure tasting chocolate and at the same instant of which you bite it you can also taste the lovely and appetizing taste of the crunchie flavor.
The unique thing about this chocolate is that the taste differs from all of the other dairy milk products but remember that is not a bad thing, it also is recommended from me because in other dairy milk products you can never taste crunchiness but in this snack you can.
When ever i eat this i can never stop and thats the truth, the taste is that good it always keeps making me come back for more and more until i have stuffed my self to the point where i can not eat any more.
i am going to give this a 10/10 because the taste and addictiveness is superb.
As soon as i open the wrapper i can smell 2 flavors and those 2 flavors are the chocolate of course and the richness of the crunchy.
The smell of the crunchy is different from the others and that to me gives this the advantage of becoming one of the worlds best possible smelling chocolate.
Even from a distance of quite a few feet you can still smell the textures in the air which came from the chocolate, this feature definantly has given it the edge of being more powerful in smell than most chocolates.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 on smell purely because of the fact the smell of the chocolate can travel more farer than most chocolates.
This chocolate is definantly more in the lines of a quality chocolate than a quantity chocolate because ...........
I love the taste of this chocolate and i am sure most of you do as well purely because of the fact that cadbury have been around for ages and know the best recipes to make their chocolates the best on the markets.
Also the taste is delicious because as soon as you put the chocolate in your mouth you can taste the pure tasting chocolate and at the same instant of which you bite it you can also taste the lovely and appetizing taste of the crunchie flavor.
When ever i buy this chocolate i find that there is never enough chocolate for my liking surely cadbury could have tried much harder to increase the amount of chocolate.
I found that in this chocolate there was a lower amount of chocolate used than in other chocolates and those other chocolates had much more chocolate in them.
I am going to rate this 8/10 on QUALITY/QUANTITY because i really liked the quantity but the only down fall was the quantity.
The packaging is superb (absolutely superb), this is possibly one of the trademarks that allow this chocolate to be much better and more widespread in the world.
I like the effects of the colours and how they have been used, i like the mix of the yellow and purple colours because it makes their opposite colours stand out more and this in turn makes the image stand out more.
I agree to my self that in all cadbury pictures that the images are good because they appeal and stand out more to the human eye which makes this chocolate more desirable.
Also when you look at the cover design you can tell exactly if the chocolate you are about to eat is going to be a good one or a bad one, this chocolate is definantly a great one and is the best wrapper i have seen in along time.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 for PACKAGING because the design is absolutely great.
The price is definantly good because in every corner shop you go to you can buy this for about 40p-42p which is slightly lower than most of the chocolate bars on the market today.
In supermarkets like morrisons, tescos, Iceland, asdas e.t.c.. you can buy all of this in different amounts of quantities which can also mean that you get more for your money.
The price is not like any other chocolate bar but that is not a bad thing and I'm just glad that the price for a bar isn't higher.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 on price because the price is not too high and you can also get more for your money.
I really do think that this chocolate has the potential to be even more bigger and more better, if only cadbury could increase the amount of chocolate this could be one of the most best chocolates in the whole wide WORLD!!!!
