I would never have bought these as my son has a nut allergy but as they were delivered in error in my supermarket shop I thought I would just have to eat them up quickly!
It came in a pack of 3 for £1.99 so not the cheapest ice cream although I expect like other varieties will often be on offer. They are vanilla ice creams on a stick encased in a chocolate coating with fruit and nuts in the chocolate layer. The vanilla ice cream is very white in colour and is a lovely creamy consistency, perhaps a little softer than might be found in a magnum. The chocolate coating is crisp but doesn't fall off when you bite it but I think is a little bit thin - given that Cadburys are known for their chocolate rather than their ice cream. The chocolate contains currants and almonds but they are not distributed perfectly evenly and the ones I have tried have had clumps of currants.
Each ice cream contains 255 calories and a staggering 15.8g of fat - which the wrapper states is 23% or nearly a quarter of an adult's guideline daily amount. So maybe I shouldn't have eaten them up so quickly!
In summary, a lovely treat but not quite as luxurious tasting as a magnum and I probably won't buy them again.
I am a huge fan of Cadbury's confectionary products. I think they are the far superior brand, and nothing else anyone makes seems to come close to Cadburys. I love the taste of dairy milk and any product which can incorperate this is going to be great!
Cadburys Fruit and nut ice cream caught my eye in the freezer aisle of my local tescos ude to its traditional purple packaging. I noticed the cadburys logo straight away and decided I would treat myself and try this. The price was more than the average ice cream, but if it tatsed much better than that would only be great in my opinion.
The packaging was classy purple with the cadburys logo on and pictutres of how the ice cream looked, which looked very tasty. The tub was reuseable which is always a good thing in my opinion. The lid peeled off easily to give delicious looking ice cream. The ice cream was soft to scoop, and nice and easy to dish up. It was full of fruits and nuts (very generously so) and the ice cream itself tasted of orange. I personally do not like the chocolate and orange combination, so for that reason I wouldnt buy the ice cream again, but for those who like chocolate orange flavour I would recommend this. It is creamy and the nut and fruit compliment the ice cream well, and make you feel like it is a healthy cersion of ice cream, even though it isnt!!
Very sorry to say but this was the worst ever ice cream that I ever ate in my life! The coating outside was OK since it is the usual Cadbury's Fruit and Nut but the ice cream inside was too sweet and with a very strange and sandy texture. It felt like as if the ingredients were not properly mixed and as it was awful to the touch with one's tongue. On the pack it said 3 Luxury Ice creams, I would not even imagine how the non luxury version would be!
This tastes delicious but has too many flaws in some aspects of the design and the price, but do not forget the taste and the aurora of the beautiful smell.
I am going to talk about what i think is in order of most desirable about this product.
The taste of this ice cream is absolutely yummy licious, as soon as this hits your mouth you can taste the flavor of the chocolate and the taste if the ice cream orange which tastes like oranges.
I like oranges so for me, the orange taste is a bonus which makes me keep coming back for more and more.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 on TASTE because it has a delicious orange taste and an overall good tasting chocolate.
The price is just apolling because for this kind of quality it is not worth the price they are charging.
You can buy this at some of your local shops for around about £3.00-£3.50 which is just way too much, you can also buy this at big stores like morisons and asdas for a bit cheaper price of £2.95-£3.20.
Overall i am going to rate this a 5/10 on price because they charge too much and is not worth that level of quality.
The packaging is dreadful because it is just plain and has no special characteristics about it and that in turn ruins the whole chocolate.
The packaging consists of a picture of an ice cream chocolate with the logo dairy milk coming across it and the word orange in italic also comes upon the picture.
I am going to rate this a 5/10 on packaging because it has nothing special about it.
This chocolate may have failed in other aspects but has surely succeeded in smell because you can smell all the flavors and taste from quite a distance away and even when you do smell from a distance of a couple of feet you can still smell all the flavors very strongly.
Not many ice crams can actually do that and that give this the added bonus of making it better.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 on smell because it smells lovely and you can smell it from a couple of feet distance away.
This chocolate succeeds in both quality and quality because....
It has a delicious taste, once you have opened it and started eating it this ice cream can still stand up on its own and not fall down.
The quantity is superb because this thing practically lasts forever and seems never to run out, i am a grown man and even i cant finish this on my own which means that this can provide lots of taste and enjoyment.
I am going to rate this a 10/10 on quality/quantity because it is hard to fall down and lasts for lots of time to eat
READ MY OTHER REVIEWS AT mehmoou1001
This review is about Cadburys Dairy milk Fruit and Nut real cadbury indulgence Icecream on a stick. These are distributed from the Frederick dairies.
Firstly I would like to talk about the package that drew me to this wonderful product. It has a cardboard box which is mostly red in colour with the blue swirl of Cadbury at the very top with a picture of the mouth watering icecream on the front next to a glass and a half symbol so characteristic of Cadburys. This symbol pouring itself into a block of chocolate surrounded by raisins and almonds. This is copied on the front back and sides of the box. Inside the box is three ices with plastic sleeves to seperate them and keep them sealed.
On the base is the list of ingredients, the size of the 3 icecreams which is 90ml and storage instructions. Which are pretty self explanitary so unless you really want them I will gloss over them a bit.
Main ingredients are Milk chocolate Vanilla icecream and raisins currants and almonds.
The taste is unbelievable, as of course I thought it would be, smooth vanilla icecream with thick chocolate with raisins and almonds interspersed all over the icecream did I mention it was covered in chocolate?
Lots of vanilla taste with yummy chocolate which of course is just like the bar. To die for.
The icecream unlike the soleros I have recently reviewed do not melt quite as quickly so the luxury in eating these slowly can be enjoyed. Each mouthful for me was like heaven and a truely orgasmic experience.
Ok I will try to calm down but good or excellent just does not cut it, get my drift.
The best part was they were on a buy one get one free in of course Morrisons. £2.98 for two packs how can you beat that.
After getting them home my hubbie was not bowled over by them and finding my son could not eat them either was a bonus for me I got four all to myself. Bonus!
I did sort of feel sorry for the guys but having icecream number two it soon went away. lol.
