“ Brand: Cadburys / Type: Puddings „
I'm a big fan of Cadbury products and I love a good sweet treat. I saw these on offer in Tescos for £1 a pack, reduced from £2, and I couldn't resist the temptation! I've tried the original chocolate version of this pudding and they were fantastic, so I was expecting good things. You get two individual 120g chocolate puddings in microwavable plastic tubs. They should be kept refrigerated and can also be frozen.
The desserts are described as "delicious chocolate flavoured sponge puddings with a rich Cadbury Caramel sauce".
It is extremely easy to prepare this dessert, just remove the plastic film covering the tub and pop it in the microwave for just under 60 seconds. This is a nice quick way to finish off a meal, or to just prepare as a treat if you fancy a hot snack. Once you've microwaved the pudding it is then ready to be transferred to a bowl, or if you're lazy like me just eat straight from the container.
It smells delicious as soon as you open the microwave, you get a sweet chocolatey aroma, and it cools quickly so you can eat it straight away. It looks like a typical sponge pudding and the cake part is wonderfully soft and moist, it has a spring to it and the texture is lovely and light & airy. The sauce is quite thin and runny from being heated but it is rich and sticky and compliments the sponge perfectly. The only complaint I have is that it is sweeter than the chocolate sauce version, and even with the small amount you get in the pot it becomes sickly as you work your way through it.
It's best to get a mouthful of both the sponge and the sauce at the same time so you can experience the full flavour of the dessert. The chocolate is rich and you can really taste the cocoa, it's a nice soft sweet taste, not at all bitter or artificial. The flavours mingle in your mouth and the sauce makes the cake a little softer as you bite into it, the combining textures create a nice sensation on the tongue. The portions are rather small, but that is understandable as one of these desserts contains almost 30g of sugar, and over 15g of fat. But you can tell just by looking at it that this is not a healthy option, so just take your time and savour this delicious dessert.

I wanted something nice after my dinner today so went round the shop because we'd got nothing exciting in, I ended up buying the first thing I saw because these Cadbury Hot Caramel Sponge Puddings looked so yummy and better still they was on special offer at £1.29 for 2 puddings.
You nuke the puddings in about 90 seconds and the chocolate smell that come out of the microwave as they were going round was wicked and I couldn't wait to dig in!!!
It's a chocolate sponge pudding and when you tip it out of the container there is a thick sticky caramel sauce over it. The sauce is quite runny when you first tip it out and then it thickens up quick, that's a good thing because being runny it means you can cover your pudding as much as possible with it.
The sponge is mega light and taste nice of chocolate, it's not a majorly rich chocolate sponge but it doesn't need to be because of how rich and sickly the sauce is. It's light and melts in your mouth when you chew it, the pudding hardly takes any chewing actually because it's so soft and yummy.
The sauce is gorgeous, stuff the pudding and just give me a pot of this stuff!!! It tastes like an even sweeter version of the caramel they use in Caramel bars and is soooooo moorish that I scraped every last tiny bit out of my bowl and then used my finger to get the last few dregs. It's proper sickly but when it comes to things like that it doesn't matter because it's such a delish treat.
The puddings are quite small but they're massively rich and sweet so it's a good job about the small size, I reckon a big family sized one would be wicked so we could all share but I don't know if that's a good idea really because you'd get greedy pigs like me eating the whole thing and ending up the size of a house!!!
Recommended..... go out NOW and buy some, they're delish!!!
I ADORE desserts and love trying out new ones. My husband is especially fond of Chocolate flavoured puddings (not usually my first choice) but when he spotted the Cadbury Hot Caramel Pudding I had to add it into the Tesco trolley.
Cadbury Hot Caramel Pudding is packaged in a lovely purple cardboard wrapper with a delicious looking picture of a pudding turned out onto a plate. Within the cardboard wrapper are 2 purple pots of caramel pudding weighing 120g each . . . just the right size for a portion. The nutritional information and list of ingredients is found on the bottom of the cardboard wrapper.
Important info: 100g contains 320 calories with 27.3g sugars and 15.1g fat, of which 2.7g is saturates. So the pudding is not the best thing for a diet, but nice as an occasional treat.
The pudding itself consists of chocolate flavoured sponge with a rich Cadbury Caramel sauce. To prepare the pudding you remove the film lid, place the pudding in the microwave for about 60 seconds. Then all that is left to do it turn it out into a bowl (and possibly add some ice cream).
I personally find the pudding to be a bit on the dry side and tend to want to smother it is custard to add a bit of moisture. My husband loves it as it is and insists that we buy some at regular intervals.
I have often found the Cadbury Hot Caramel Pudding on special at Tesco and I paid £1 for 2 puddings on my last visit.
I had these puddings for the first time recently when i spotted them on offer in my local tesco for £1. As a fan of other cadbury desserts, and a lover of caramel and all things sweet I eagarly put them in my basket. In trademark purple packaging, the puddings were well packaged and obviously identifiable as a cadbury product.
One of the first positives about these desserts is that you can pop them in the microwave, and they are done in 90 seconds - which is fantastic for those stressful evenings after work and similar desserts have to be put in the oven - or even boiled in a pan.
The sponge is soft and moist, without being too airy or too thick and heavy, with a generous serving of caramel, which is good as many caramel puddings I have had in the past have been a tad lacking in caramel topping. Also fantastically the sponge didnt taste dry if you got a mouthful without the caramel on.
I would buy these again, especially if they were on offer, although I would pay upto £1.99 for the two puddings again.
Cadbury Hot Chocolate Caramel Sponge Pudding
I had one of these this week at a friend's house; she always has something sweet and cake like in to have with a cuppa and I can NEVER resist. She told me that they are currently on special offer at Tesco for £1 (2 puddings) which is half price. I nicked the cardboard sleeve from her with the nutritional information on and unfortunately it only gives amounts per 100g - 320 calories and 15.1g of fat. Each pot is 129g so that is erm... work it out for yourself. Lol. Sorry. Lazy brain!! Anyway, far too many calories for a pudding of this size.
The puddings are packaged in a black plastic pot with a film cover, inside a cardboard sleeve so mostly recyclable packaging.
To make them hot simply pop the black pot in the microwave for said amount of time, ours were around 1 minute and ... ping!!! Uptunr the black pot on to suitable serving bowl and the sponge will easily pop out and covers itself in the hot sticky caramel sauce. It smells delicious. Absolutely delicious.
Mine was served, with great care and attention, accompanied with vanilla ice cream, the steaming hot and ice cold combination was perfect.
The caramel sauce is amazing, very very sweet but not too sweet for my sweet tooth in need of sweet stuff! It is thick but drizzle-able. The sponge is quite dense and very chocolately and is fabulous steamed.
Overall I loved this dessert and they are available at a great price at the moment. All that is missing is a blob of melted chocolate in the middle.

Product its self
light chocolate pudding with a caramel sauce topping.
Once heated up you can really smell the caramel sauce and its very sickly smell to. I found it very over powering.
once cooked 60secs on full on the microwave. and placed on my plate I was very disappointed at the amount of caramel sauce. to say there was a very over powering smell there was not a lot of caramel sauce.
The pudding popped out nicely of the little pod it comes in.
The caramel - what there was tasted nice but like iv said not enough of it.
the chocolate sponge pudding was nice but after eating half of it got very sickly and I didn't want to eat anymore. and I left of the pudding.
very disappointed with this pudding I will never be getting it again.
Per 100g - each pud is 120g
Suitable for vegetates
Very disappointed and to be honest not very nice. I would rather make you something myself.
Very sickly and not enough caramel sauce!
Don't not buy.

I absolutely adore Cadburys products. I think they are the best confectionary brand on the market and nothing I have tried comes close. I like most of the traditional products best, and there are a lot to chose from, they have ben going for over 100 years now. This is one of the less traditional products that I have fallen in love with!
I tried the chocolate version of this pudding some time ago now. I really liked it, I love sponge pudding and the combination of that and my favorite brand made it delicious. I remember thinking at the time that the only way they could possibly make this better would be to add caramel, and then lo and behold a miracle arrived in my supermarket and I just had to try it.
The pudding comes in a carboard box, which is great for recycling. The box is decorated in traditional Cadbury's purple colours, with gorgeous pictures of steamy hot cake on the front, that make it seem absolutely delicious.
Inside the box comes two individually wrapped puddings. they are two small round puddings in plastic pots with peel off lids. To be honest they are both quite small servings, but this minimises the calorie intake a tiny bit!
The puddings can be cooked in the microwave or the oven and in my opinion both versions get good results. As they are cooking the smell fills the room, which is amazing and will really get your taste buds going. The puddings themselves are chocolate sponge with a caramel sauce that comes with them. The sponge is soft a light, with an amazing taste. The caramel sauce is sticky and sweet and moistens up the cake even more.
If you ignore calories and cost this is the perfect pudding whcih just has to be tried to be loved.
