The best trifle with the mix of custard and cream so yummy I could just eat that alone. Love it.

OK For The Price But Nothing Special

My dad brought these Creamfields Strawberry Trifles the other day from Tesco, it was 99p for 3 trifles and when you get them out of the cardboard sleeve they're quite big and look exactly the same as the Tesco own trifles and they're a bit more expensive. They are made up of the same things as any other individual trifle. Strawberry jelly on the bottom with bits of sponge mixed in it, custard and cream on the top. I think it's squirty cream because it looks like there are too many bubbles in it for it to be proper whipped cream. It tastes nice but is dead fake tasting. The jelly has got a delish sweet strawberry flavour but the sponge is a bit soggy, I know sponges go soggy in ALL trifles but these ones actually taste wet and I wasn't very happy about that because the feel of them in my mouth isn't very nice. They have soaked the strawberry taste up and that makes them taste nice so I don't know how Creamfields could get the texture of them better without spoiling the taste. The custard is delish, that's the best thing about the trifle I think. It's got a proper creamy feel as you're eating it and there's a yummy vanilla flavour to it. It's dead sweet but not majorly sugary and to me this custard tastes a bit like the stuff you get in a custard slice cake only not as sticky. The cream goes ok with the rest of it but to me it didn't taste very fresh and I ended up scraping most of it off because I didn't want the taste of it on every spoon I ate. I'm like that with all of these kinds of trifles though because the cream never tastes like fresh dairy cream to me..... and it isn't so that's not much of a surprise! lol Over all I don't think these are too bad for the price. I don't eat that many trifles so can't say how good these cheap ones are compared to others, I think they're ok though as long as you're not expecting home made trifle because it's kind of obvious you're not going to be getting that! Recommended.... apart from the soggy sponge and weird cream that is!!!
