Advantages: healthy alternative to ice cream
Disadvantages: don't buy singles as you get conned
I'm one of those people who is easily put of food and when I get craving for something it simply has to be perfect. I can wonder round a supermarket for hours to satisfy this need and when I want a fruit ice-lolly I do not want ice cream, hundreds and thousands, artificial flavours, chocolate or fruit pieces. I want a simple ice-lolly.
That's what Fruitini is. It's back to basic frozen juice and tastes brilliant. I got three from my local shop at 50p each and thought that was a bargain until I read 'I AM JOY's review. If ever there was proof that this page is helpful this is it. The aforementioned reviewer got 8 for £1. I got 3 for £1.50. Still, when the cravings kick in needs must.
To start with I like that there is natural fruit juice in there. I don't eat fruit so every little helps. The flavours are orange, strawberry and pineapple and they are very tasty. There is a nice tartness that you get with the pineapple which kicks in early on as this flavour runs right through the ice-lolly. I did not find that it melted too quickly as some counterparts do and there was no excessive dribbling.
The wrapper is standard but bright and colourful so I reckon you could con the children into thinking it was something more child friendly and less healthy than it actually is. That said, in my house the kids don't get a look in
This ice-lolly does what all ice-lollies should do. It cools, it refreshes and it tastes great. I think what I paid was worth the money but it just shows that buying in bulk is cheaper and the mark up from the local shops.
Summary: buy more spend less, you know it makes sense
