Del Monte Raspberry Smoothie
Advantages: TASTY AND FRUITY, FAT FREE
Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE WHEN NOT ON OFFER AND HIGH SUGAR
Del Monte has produced a range of ice lolly products which are like smoothies. They are made with real fruit.
Here we have the Del Monte Refreshing Raspberry Iced Smoothie. It contains no preservatives, artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners.
The Iced Smoothies come in a cardboard box. The main colours are pink, white and green. The front of the box has an appetizing image of the iced smoothie and some raspberries. It also contain the brand and product name and some claims from the company.
The end panel has the nutritional information and ingredients. Ingredients in various languages are also on the box. You can also find storage instructions and contact details for Del Monte.
Each iced smoothie is individually wrapped in a plastic wrapper containing the same design and information as the box.

Tesco currently have these on offer til 24th May 3 x 90ml pack for £1.00 rrp £2.49.
I popped these in my electronic online shopping trolley at Tesco this week following a recommendation from a fellow dooyooer! I picked Raspberry as hubby isn't keen on Mango but he didn't want any anyway so I have 3 all to myself haha!
I had one yesterday and then another there just now. I got to eat todays all by myself as my toddler was over every 2minutes for a lick of it yesterday. Del Monte is a product I associate with delicious tins of fruit so I know I could trust them.
Opening the wrapper, I see that the iced smoothie is almost identical to Soleros which I like. This off course does not have ice cream in the inside and is pure smoothie. It is an intense pink shade and looks smooth and juicy!
I have very sensitive teeth so therefore left mine to sit for a minute to softenen. I also have a sore throat and no voice at the minute so was confident this might help to soothe it a bit.
Taking my first hit at the iced smoothie, I notice it is firm but soft enough not to break your teeth. It stays together well on the stick but as soon as it enters your mouth, it really does melt in your mouth. It is obviously cold and sweet but with the raspberry adding a sourness to the smoothie. It releases plenty of juicy iced pieces.
Note that these melt really quickly so you do have to be quick off the mark as otherwise you will end up in a sticky mess!
I was very impressed with this iced smoothie. I like smoothies and raspberries are usually something I like to see included. It was extremely smoothie like in consistency just frozen and very juicy. There was a tad creaminess to the offering but mainly fruity.
Now the weather seems to be giving us a few nice days, these are perfect for a refreshing alternative to normal ice lollies. I was happy to pay £1 to try them but I cannot afford £2.49 every week for them. If you can afford this then I do recommend buying them as they are of very good quality and taste wonderfully refreshing,
The best part is they are less than 100 calories per iced smoothie and basically fat free. Yes the sugar is high but one won't hurt now will it?
At normal price, these work out at around 83p each which is cheaper than what you would pay in the shops for a decent treat.
Thanks for reading and head down to Tesco before the 24th!
