“ Brand: Dr Oetker / Type: Yoghurts „
My partner and me have started purchasing Onken yoghurt for our smoothies. Most of the recipes we were looking at online suggested using fat free yoghurts so we opted for 'Onken Fat Free vanilla'. This can be purchased at most supermarkets according to the Onken website. We purchased this yoghurt from Asda for £1.00 however it is usually £1.20 for 450g. Packaging I really like the packaging of this yoghurt. This particular flavor comes in a creamy light yellow vanilla tub. On the front of the tub it has a flower, which is also a similar creamy yellow colour. The yoghurt has a foil lid on it to keep it fresh and then a plastic lid to I guess keep it more fresh. I really like this idea because sometimes we don't use the whole of the pot for the weeks smoothies so we can use it again another day and it wont go all funny. Appearance of the yoghurt The yoghurt looks creamy and thick, almost like creamy custard. In fact my uncle bought this by accident thinking it was a custard, I have no idea how he didn't realize it from the packaging, maybe he didn't have his specs on! But to be honest it isn't that far away from custard in taste. Other information To be honest, I was shocked when I tasted it because I expected it to be really boring and have no flavor because it is 'fat free' however, it really has so much flavor and tastes like a treat rather than a healthy snack! What can you use Onken with? Well as well as smoothies you can put this on fruit, nuts, even buns. Yes buns! I purchased the hairy dieters cookbook and in their buns it suggested adding natural yoghurt. I decided to add this, as I didn't have just plain natural yoghurt. It really tasted delicious; to be quite honest I have never added yoghurt to buns before either! Ingredients Yogurt, Water, Sugar, Corn Starch, Lemon Juice, Carrot Concentrate, Thickeners: Pectin, Locust Bean Gum; Natural Bourbon Vanilla Flavoring, Ground Bourbon Vanilla Pods
Contains: Cows Milk Calories It has 111 calories per 150g serving and 0.2g grams of fat per 150g serving. This isn't bad at all because of course the yoghurt is virtually fat free and also the pot is 450g so 150g is a fair amount of the pot anyway. So I'm sure you can spare 111 calories or less! Overall, I love the taste of the Onken yoghurt, I still can't get over the taste, and also the packaging and price are great too! Really great buy and handy to have in the house because you can add it to a lot of things!
I love yogurt and over the years I have got into the habit of eating it everyday , it is good for the body and I eating it instead of eating chocoalte as it is my treat for the day instead of a bar of chocolate that piles on the pounds in weight. I buy Onken yogurt for £1 when it is on offer and it retails at £1.25 when it's not on offer. It can be bought at most supermarkets and comes in a variety of flavours, I buy the vanilla flavour as I love the taste. It is a fat free yogurt so you don't have to feel guilty if you happen to eat the whole tub which often I do whilst siting watching the television at night. It has live Probiotic cultures which are good for the stomach and digestion, friendly bacteria some other advertisers of yogurt and yogurt drinks call it. There are 111 calories in each 150g serving so if you eat the whole tub its only 333 calories of fat free non guilt munching. I used to have a bad habit of eating chocolate every day and night and found that this vanilla yogurt has taken over my habit and replaced my chocolate fix, as I freeze the pot and eat it frozen from the freezer, it takes ages to eat and keeps me occupied when watching tele so that I dont reach for the chocolate or biscuits anymore. It has no bits in it and is a smooth yogurt if you eat it unfrozen and can be poured onto bowls of fruit or eaten straight from the tub. It contains cows milk so may not be suitable for very young children, but all in all it's tasty , good for you and cheap enough to buy everyday . I love it
Dr oetker's Vanilla fat free yoghurt. As a fat free yoghurt this is truly delicious. With none of the articificial sweetener the often have. I bought this as it is a free food on slimming world so thought it sounded nice to have with meringues or something as a dessert. Not generally a sweet yoghurt eater i was pleasantly impressed with this. It has the creamy vanilla flavour still with a zesty aftertaste you get with plain yoghurt. I find it satisfying to a sweet craving yet refreshing. Found with all the large tubs of yoghurts at £1 a tub in most supermarkets it comes in a creamy coloured classic looking tub. With the writing around the tub detailing the nutritional information and details on the tub. The tub has a peel back foil lid and a clip on plastic lid. A 500ml tub, it is big enough for quite a few servings or to share with family or friends. I have bought this again since first trying it and it is a truly refreshing change from fruit yoghurt or sickly chocolate puddings. This is suitable for vegetarians as most of the oetkers yoghurts are.
I love yogurt and I particularly enjoy vanilla flavour. I spotted this on offer for a pound a tub in my local Asda store one evening and decided that I simply must try it out. The Packaging: The tub the yogurt comes in is a light warm yellow colour with a photograph running along the top of it of vanilla flowers and on the front of the tub we are told that it is Dr.Oetker Onken Fat Free Vanilla 'Light & Tasty', Biopot yogurt. Other information listed on the back of the tub include telling us a bit about the yogurt and the ingredients it contains, we are given nutritional information as well as recipe ideas, the size is stated which in this case is 450g and contact details for Dr.Oetker are given. The lid to the top of it is foil and with a vanilla flower pattern on it and again we are told what it is etc and over that a see-through plastic pull/off lid goes over that. The Yogurt Itself: With a smooth and light creamy looking consistency, this smells wonderfully of vanilla in a very natural and not overpowering way. Taste wise, well it is as smooth as it looks, pour-able and simply tastes of tangy vanilla. It isn't too sweet but the sweetness given is a natural sweetness opposed to an artificial one. I like the way this can be poured, and that although it is runny enough it still remains full bodied in the mouth and doesn't taste low fat at all so to speak. This also contains Bio Cultures and Live Cultures to keep our insides in order and contains no artificial flavourings, colours or preservatives and is Gluten free and suitable for Vegetarians and all in all I love this high quality smooth and flavoursome yogurt that can be enjoyed alone or on a dessert of your choice (great on strawberries this.... take my word for that lol). At only 74kcal and 0.2g of fat per 150g serving this is a naughty tasting yogurt with the naughtiness!
