Advantages: great taste and texture
Disadvantages: warping tub
Dreyers is an Ice cream brand, and a premium one at that, selling a wide range of flavours, types and sizes.
~~~PACKAGING~~~
This particular tub of ice cream is held in a card/paper tub which is durable, and environmentally friendly (The same kind as Ben and Jerry's). It is a nice colour for the front, not too generic, yet not too posh, and appears to be for everyone, and it is!
However, the packaging does buckle after a few uses, which makes it easy to wear and tear, and can cause problems if you can't finish a tub very quickly!
~~~APPEARANCE~~~
The ice cream is a nice vanilla coloured, with chocolate cookie bits inside, and streaks where the chocolate is. Sometimes, you also get large patches of cookie, which is dark brown / black in colour.
~~~TASTE AND TEXTURE~~~
The taste is fantastic. It is a premium taste, with a nice creamy and smooth texture, a genuine cookie and cream taste, and the bits (Oreo Cookie XD) are nice and crunchy, yet soft and luscious all spread out.
I really like this mix of textures, the ice cream with the cookies are a great match. If you ever had McDonald's OREO McFlurry it is like that only better! The ice cream is absolutely divine. I can imagine, even without the cookie and cream, it would be a great vanilla ice cream.
I also think this is great as it is not overly sweet, it satisfies the tastebuds without causing you to gag or think of needing to drink water afterwards!
~~~PRICE~~~
This can be bought for around £4 (it is ONE large tub!!)
~~~OVERALL~~~
I really like this ice cream, however, it is pretty similar to Haagen Daaz, and personally I can't tell a difference. The taste and texture are quite similar, but with Dreyers, they have ice cream cones and more conveniently sized tubs which might be more helpful.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes premium ice cream. Although it isn't anything special or overly unique, it is a good product, and gives a nice alternative to the generic types such as Haagen Daaz!
Give Dreyers a go!
Summary: a nice alternative
