“ Brand: Eismann / Type: Ice Cream „
I am a big fan of quality ice cream such as Ben and Jerry's. Therefore when we had the chance to order some frozen food from Eismann with £10 off orders over £20 we jumped at the chance, especially when the salesman told us eismann had the best ice cream in the world (the things they say)!
So the caramel honeycomb ice cream comes in a tub (similar to Ben and Jerry's) there is 500ml in the tub and it costs £4.59. The tub is very boring, it is just white in colour with an eismann logo on.
To open the tub you need to snap a seal on the lid. Now this is a good idea but I snapped my nail on mine so I'm not too keen! Once I was finally in the tub I was greeted by a pale cream coloured ice cream, swirled with caramel and with small pieces of chocolate coated honeycomb dotted throughout.
I would recommend leaving the ice cream out of the freezer for a few minutes before digging in otherwise it is a little bit hard! When it has warmed up a bit, it is very soft and easy to scoop onto your spoon. The ice cream itself has a lovely flavour to it, it is very creamy and has a nice vanilla flavour however you can detect some caramel in the flavour too. The caramel is rich and sweet and there is plenty of it throughout the ice cream, it goes well with the ice cream and makes the taste in your mouth very sweet. The chocolate covered honeycomb pieces are my favourite bits! The chocolate is of good quality and is creamy and the honeycomb tastes lovely and sweet. There are plenty of honeycomb pieces so you dont feel like you are being cheated out of any tasty bits!
100g contains 191 calories, 22.7g sugar, 8.9g fat (2.4g saturates) and 0.001g sodium. This isnt too bad, I'm not sure how grams relate to millilitres but I imagine 100g is a good sized scoop.
I love the taste of this ice cream, it is very expensive but whenever I have had this ice cream I have made sure I have only had about a fifth of the tub. By doing this I found I actually appreciated it more!
So is it the best ice cream in the world? It is very nice, however after having real Italian ice cream in Italy, I would say eismann is not quite the best!
I will definitely buy the ice cream again but only when I am feeling flush, even Ben and Jerry's is cheaper!
