Advantages: 3 layers of chcolate! Cheap to buy.
Disadvantages: Not very good quality chocolate inside
Me and my partner was talking about the ice creams we had as children the other day, all the usual favorites - Mini milk, Calippo, Twister, Cornetto, Magnum, and my personal favorite - Feast. After that, I really fancied trying one again, just to see if they tasted like I remembered them, I couldn't even remember the last time I had one, it must of been years!
~~ The product ~~
Made by Walls, A feast ice cream consists of three layers. The outside is a thin, milk chocolate shell - this also has pieces of biscuit mixed in with it. Inside the chocolate biscuit layer, is a thick layer of chocolate ice cream, and then finally, inside the center of the ice cream, is a slab of milk chocolate.
You can also get a mint version, which is basically the same thing, but the chocolate ice cream is replaced with mint ice cream.
~~ The packaging ~~
I brought the 'Bite size' feast box, inside this you get four chocolate flavour ice-creams and four mint flavoured.
The box has 'Bite Size Feast' written on the front in large yellow font, with pictures of pieces of chocolate, and mint leaves around it.
Below the writing is a picture of each of the flavored ice creams.
On the back is all of the nutritional info, and a few paragraphs about the ice creams.
Each ice cream is individually wrapped - the chocolate ice cream is wrapped in a dark blue wrapper, and the mint one is in a green wrapper.
~~ The taste ~~
When you bite into a Feast, you are greeted with a thin layer of chocolate, and crispy pieces of biscuit. This layer is crunchy, and it provides a good contrast to the soft ice cream inside. The chocolate is of a nice quality, and it is creamy and sweet.
The ice cream is chocolatey - exactly what you want. It is creamy, and not overly sugary. The flavour is strong, and I was quite suprised, as it is a nice ice cream. I prefer to lick off the chocolate so you are left with the inner layer, which is basically a quite thick bar of chocolate! The chocolate, to me, tasted quite plasticy, and I didn't enjoy this bit as much as I remembered as a kid. It was always a great bonus to finish the ice cream, and still have left a piece of chocolate to eat!
The chocolate in the middle, wasn't very rich and creamy, as I would have liked, and to be honest it tasted like a very cheap chocolate, but it was still okay, it wasn't inedible by any means - just not very good.
The mint version is just basically the chocolate ice cream has been replaced with mint ice cream. I am not a big fan of mint ice cream anyway, but it was quite nice. The mint flavour wasn't too strong, and made a nice change to all three layers being chocolate! It is a very soft ice cream, and it seems to begin to melt as soon as you start eating it.

~~ The price ~~
I recently brought a pack of 8 bite sized Feasts in Asda, on offer for £1.
Which is a bargain at just under 13p an ice cream!
However, they are usually priced at around £1.90 for a pack of 8, but they are usually on offer at 2 packs for £3.
The bite sized feast is roughly around half the size of a normal feast.
If you buy the normal sized ones at the local shop / newsagent, they will usually set you back about a pound or so each, so it is much better value to buy the multi packs.
Summary: Ok, but I wont be buying again in a hurry
