Iceland Sticky Toffee Cheesecake
Advantages: Lovey toffee taste, fantastic value for money.
Disadvantages: Very fattening!
I've been buying this Iceland sticky toffee cheesecake for about a year now. I am not actually sure how long Iceland have been doing it for, but it was ony a year ago that i had noticed it! Before this, the sort of cheesecakes i would buy most frequently were strawberry or chocolate ones.
I noticed that this cheesecake was very cheap; the box even has the price printed on it ( so i am guessing it will remain at only £1.00 for quite some time!). That is an incredibly low price for a great tasting cheesecake.
I like the idea of the toffee flavour and the picture of the cheesecake on the box does make it look very appealing. The box size is 455g. Now, because i can sometimes be a little greedy when it comes to sweets, cakes and chocolates, i will usually have a quarter of the cheesecake which is ample i think for an adult. That means its only £0.25pence for a decent sized portion. You wont find cheesecakes at that price in cafes/restaurants!
On the box, it states that this is an 'improved recipe'. The cheesecake itself has the usually lovely crumbly digestive biscuity base (which i love) with the thicker layer of actual toffee flavour cheesecake. The top layer has the nice creamy taste with smooth toffee sauce and sweet flavoured caramel curls.
Im not a lover of what i would call huge cheesecakes. By this i mean cheesecakes with a really thick cheescake layer. I find that it is just too much and with those types in my view you dont get enough base or topping for me to go with that ammount of cheesecake. I find these smaller thinner layered cheesecakes to be much more appealing to my taste.
This particuar cheesecake really is lovely; the toffee taste/flavour is great and combined together it goes very well. This is now one of my favourite cheesecakes and i buy it on a regular basis, even though im suppossed to be on a sort of diet! My partner now loves this too and he once admitted to me that he ate a whole one of these cheesecakes in one night!! I can't say i blame him though, as i have eaten half of one before!
There are lots and lots of ingredients in this cheesecake!

This cheesecake has 309 kcal per 100g/ 235 kcal per 1/6th of the cake. So theres alot of calories in it!
It is suitable for vegetarians.
You can defrost in the fridge for 4 hours or defrost at room temperature for 2 hours. If you want to eat it a little quicker i would suggest slicing up the cake into quarters; i have then found it is usally ready in about 90 minutes. The box states that once defrosted it must be kept in the fridge and consumed within 24 hours. I would agree with this.
This is a lovely tasting cheesecake; well worth a £1.00. Highly recommend!
Summary: Well worth treating yourself to this cheesecake/super value.
